CCC Episode 8 - 1936 Pierce Arrow Limo

This rare late production 1936 Pierce-Arrow eight enclosed limousine is a true barn find example. One of just seven survivors recorded by longtime Pierce-Arrow Society historian, Bernard Weis. The car is also a Classic Car Club of America Full Classic.
The eight-cylinder Pierce-Arrows of the company's later years are highly regarded for their extremely elegant streamlined design. Importantly, they are also engineering masterpieces, known for conservative but superb engine design that results in excellent performance and durability in silky-smooth comfort. By 1936, only two years before the company faded into memory, its output was miniscule.
The handsome Enclosed Drive Limousine offered here was built on the 144-inch-wheelbase chassis, which, somewhat remarkably, was the mid-sized eight-cylinder platform in 1936. Among its features are the division window iconic to the limousine model, as well as dual side-mounted spares with metal covers, window shades, rear jump seats, and pressed steel artillery wheels.
We have had this car running, but will need to be gone through to make the car roadworthy.

Cloth front seat and no divider window, NOT a limousine. This is a five passenger touring sedan. Check the model number on the I D plate.

Thanks but the consigner who has been collecting Pierce Arrows for 30 years and the documentation he brought with car would disagree with you. Secondly, the car sold to another Pierce Arrow collector 8 days after this video went live. But, we appreciate your comments anyway.

That car sold in less than two weeks. There were several Pierce Arrow collectors going after it. We were trying to acquire it for restoration ourselves. There's no shortage of people commenting on KZbin videos either.

The global Classic Cars industry was estimated to be worth USD 31.1 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow north of USD 51.3 billion by 2028. One thing is for certain, no one will be "collecting" EV's or Kia's 100 years from now.
