CCI Blazer 9mm ammo plastic tray online purchase vs. store bought ammo difference

I just finished purchasing 1000 rounds of CCI/Speer Blazer 115 grain 9 mm ammunition on VelocityAmmunition.com. A few weeks ago I purchased three 50 round boxes at my local Sportsman's Warehouse of the same ammunition for $13.99 a box. I noticed that the plastic ammo trays that hold the rounds were different. The plastic trays in my online order were not fully enclosed. But the plastic trays from the ammo I bought from Sportsman's Warehouse were.
What do you think? I think its just to save $ on weight and production cost for the trays.
