Yeah, it’s a very good micro. My wife loves shooting it, I love shooting it. She has the safety model, I have the non safety model. We find ourselves shooting more through this little pocket devils than any gun in this class. The other 380 micros really have nothing on this gun. Love your test at the end, as it’s what this gun was designed for. We rarely shoot it at more than 7-10 yards. Wife practices drawing from her purse (made specifically with an easy access concealed pocket). I carry it mostly IWB. Thanks for your video sir.

I ran hollow points, flat-nose (had them in a plastic bag not sure of the brands) Critical Defense, Federal Premium Hydra-shok plus round-nose. Now S&W doesn’t pay my bills so with that said I can honestly say the BG2.0 ran like a champ. One last thing to mention I did have to push the rear sight over to the right prior to shooting it.

Other S&W pistol mags had similar problems. Possible issue: the spring binds up underneath the follower so you can't load the last 1-2 rounds. Caught on the follower internal ledge or burrs. Can be sanded or rounded so the spring can run smoothly. Good detailed review 👍

My wife is an older woman and can't handle the recoil. She is stuck with 22lr but she is very good with it. She used to shoot an SR9C. I looked at a 2.0 yesterday. The sights looked OK to me and it felt good in the hand but I will stick with my P32 for my mouse gun. I would be very interested in the 2.0 in 32ACP. Your video showed my the recoil while better than the old LCP and Bodyguard is still on the high side. My Hellcat weighs 22 oz with 12 rounds of Norma NXD on board and the recoil is not bad. Not bad with 115 grain range ammo either.

I wanted a pocket gun and have 600 rounds through mine. Non safety model. Good gun, fun to shoot. I've read elsewhere a lot of people (myself included) shot it to the left and after I was used to shooting it, it became easy to adjust to the right. Vedder makes a pocket holster for this gun that I received yesterday, only wore it for an hour or so, haven't made a judgement on it yet.

My S&W BG 2.0 out of the box was shooting a little to the left at seven yards. Other shooters shot it and found the same thing. So I had my local indoor shooting range gunsmith drift my rear sight 1.1 smidgens to the right. for me now, windage at seven yards is point of aim.

I have one of these and in my experience I find that holding this gun a bit tighter than my other guns makes me a bit more accurate, especially when making a quick shot from the draw! I think, for the most part, not having good trigger control, lends itself to shot placement to the left! I learned very quickly how to shoot this gun and where my point of aim is when I use good trigger control! I have Nerve Damage in my fingers, so I have to really concentrate when shooting! I shoot every week at my LGR and this 2.0 is now my EDC!

Glad to see a fully-independent review/shooting experience with this one! I was excited when the rest of the gun channels took a look at it a month ago...right up until I discovered that all those folks had to sign a pretty restrictive contract with S&W to be able to get their hands on one that early. So I couldn't fully trust what they were saying. Not so with GBGuns, though. Keep it up, guys. Thank you!

I was having so much fun shooting my BG 2.0 I didn't notice the red mark in between my thumb and index finger until about 4 mags later. I have big hands and the slide bite did get me but it didn't really hurt, I just had to lower my grip slightly. Even with that and occassionaly riding the slide I had zero malfunctions with 4 types of JHP and FMJ (100 rounds). I love that little gun.

For low cost training 380 ammo I and my wife use LAX/Freedom Munitions 95 gr round nose, flat point, copper plated (not copper jacketed) ammo. We have purchased it for about 24 CPR when free shipping is offered on orders of $250 or more. I only buy their ammo that has new cases. I don't care to save a tiny amount and take more risk with their reman cases. I did have some of their 9mm ammo that was out of spec. I discovered the issue within a week and received a full refund. So I would recommend trying some ammo from any order as soon as possible while one may still be able to get a refund. Some have had good luck with this brand of ammo and others did not and will never buy it again. Other 380 ammo brands may run more like 28 to 32 CPR when on sale.

Thanks for an honest first time shooting impressions video. Maybe you could use white fingernail polish and make a mark just below the U notch. It would definitely be a candidate for trijicon u notch night sights if they made some that fits the Bodyguard 2. I contacted Apex Tactical inquiring if they'll make a trigger kit for it and their reply was that they didn't have an ETA on it.

I thought about warning you in the table-top video that MANY are shooting left, and sometimes it's the trigger, BUT several people have noticed their sights (front OR rear) have been off center. My sights were centered fine, so it was all me...however the rear notch is just too wide, so I switched my rear with an OLD Bodyguard rear, which is a little too narrow--but the only 5rd group I shot at 25Y was 3.3", so I'll take that...though I'm sure it's a bit slower up close.

OK, some thoughts here... I too am excited about this gun because its being touted as the rock that will knock the King of the Hill (LCP MAX) of its throne! Well, as one who daily carries the LCP MAX, and has well over 1500 rounds through it, I was eagerly awaiting your review on this one. I have put several of these into my hands here locally, and I must say that the thinness of the pistol turned me off almost instantly. I have medium sized hands, and it felt so tiny and "play gun" like that I walked away from the counter thinking "maybe when I find a used one MAYBE"... Now, I must say, between you & Tia's and Chris's review, y'all are making me think twice about picking one of these things up! BTW... that last drill in the video is similar to one that I have been practicing a great deal this year. Considering this is a defensive pistol only, I have my target at 8-15', pocket draw (Galco, PRO836B holster) while stepping back from the target and doing double/triple taps. Mostly single handed draw/fire but sometimes double handed. Its a fun drill and it teaches me accurate (muscle memory) point shooting and not "sights" shooting. Maybe I will allocate $400 bucks and pick one of these up. The holster market will help me pin point the timing of my purchase. Living my best La Vida Loca here in south eastern Arizona

In a pistol that small I'd stick with round-nosed FMJs. With HPs it likely won't generate enough velocity to enable them to expand as designed. I am planning to get one of these, when my budget allows. It looks like a first-rate pocket pistol.

After watching other reviews on KZbin and reading owner comments on YT videos and on Reddit I have read that some others think the rear sight opening it wider than it needs to be. I prefer the opening width on my LCP Max. Some have reported the sights were not properly adjusted by the factory causing theirs to shoot left too. Three or four reported the slide did not always lock open on the last round. This seemed more likely to occur on the 10-round magazine. Everyone who owns the LCP Max and bought the Bodyguard 2.0 said the felt recoil is much better on the Bodyguard. I think lower bore axis, longer grip length for fingers due to more aggressive undercut on the trigger guard, better grip shape, and the better trigger all make the Bodyguard more pleasant to shoot than the very similar sized LCP Max. I never have enjoyed shooting my LCP Max due to the very snappy muzzle. Installing a Hogue grip sleeve and removing the sharp edges on the polymer trigger and trigger safety that was causing pinching helped but I plan to buy a Bodyguard by the start of next summer when I start to pocket carry in a holster once again. The other issue some report with the Bodyguard is that they found mold flashing on feed ramp in the frame--not the feed ramp on the barrel. Removing the flashing eliminated the feeding issues they had with their Bodyguards. Just compare the Bodyguard to the LCP Max via Handguardhero website tool to see how the grips and beavertails compare. One is much less likely to get slide bite with the beavertail on the LCP Max but that also likely is responsible for it having a lot of muzzle snap.

I see tons of positive reviews on this pistol. I like everything about it except that back notch being so wide. I understand it is there for quick site acquisition but for me it's just too wide. I think a small dot of white paint at the bottom center of the rear site notch would make this site work for me as it would then make the straight 8 or killer snowman site picture that I shoot well. As time goes by someone will make a laser guard system for it and someone (hopefully MCARBO - I love their stuff-IMO they make good guns better) will make a trigger kit to reduce the weight of pull. I was able to handle one a little over a week ago and it feels great and looks well finished. I'll most likely get one to replace my old LCPII

I have a LCP Max and think the narrower gap in the rear U sight on the LCP Max and the near impossible chance of slide bite with the LCP Max are its only two advantages. I don't enjoy shooting my LCP Max due to felt recoil that the beavertail is partial responsible for along with the trigger weight, long travel, and pinching. Other channels have done comparisons between the two but I would still like to see one done on this channel.

@@raykettel1837 I mostly agree, except for the trigger issues, mine is great, but I guess a lot of other's have had trouble (heavy stiff break). I've seen couple of the head to head matchups between the Max & 2.0. I'd just like to see G&T try it and also to see if my theory that G does better with the Max and T does better with the 2.0 holds true. I do prefer the sights/sight picture on the Max to that of the 2.0. That rear u is just too wide IMO. I've not shot the 2.0 yet but from holding it and watching others shoot it certainly looks like the design mitigates recoil better than the Max. To me the Max isn't harsh but it does try to jump straight up outta my hand. First pistol I ever thought about getting Talon grips for.
