CB stands for conical BULLET. The cb cap was an evolution of the bb cap which used a round lead ball as a projectile, and was originally designed for indoor parlor shooting.

Thank you for that info. I’ve been wondering for years what that meant.

The Aguila super extra short is 22 short. The CCI CB short is downloaded form of 22 short. CCI also makes 22 short around 1000 fps. The Colibri uses extra primer to drive the bullet.

I use the cb in my backyard to get rid of starlings and Indian mynahs, both pest birds in aus, even in suburbia no problem ,about the same noise as a door slam. They won’t cycle in my 22 savage ,so they have to be put in without the magazine and with a pair of long nosed pliers,bit of dicking around,but they get the job done

Lmao. I shoot my neightbors cats and shit in suburbian silence. "Birds and critters" you want the chicken or the real chicken

We have a few boxes of this round, and while it would be effective on squirrels we haven't really designated the ammo for anything specific...just part of the range supply at the moment, as shorts are fun to shoot...

when out hunting deer and elk in montana i used a 9shot revolver w/4" barrel and used cb,s to shoot ruffed grouse so not to scare game, worked perfect

Can I use it in a 19th century single shot .22 rimfire pistol ? Or would the pressure from a modern munition would be too much for it to handle ?
@Mr.Spectaculous2 жыл бұрын
You can use it.

@@Mr.Spectaculous wondering if I could get a little help too, would a Handgun (Armi galesi 901A) cycle a .22 CB short?

I used them in an old 19th century H&R revolver. Worked great.

Those low velocity 22 rounds can produce tight groups from pistols.

There’s nothing wrong with shooting shorts in an .22lr only rifle , how do you think they made rifles back in the day that used .22shorts , .22longs and .22long rifles ? It wasn’t a special chamber . It has to do with rifle being designed to function properly with shorts , or it will stove pipe or jam trying to cycle them, also .22short rifling was usually 1:20 not 1:16 .22lr is , so accuracy might be off some , other then that just clean the carbon ring that forms in the chamber after a couple hundred rounds or .22lr might not feed reliably

Worked on dispatching a possum I caught.

Yes, these can kill possums and even racoons. Discovered it has trouble with a beavers noggin if the critter is very large.

Thank You Sir! I like to shoot the CBs through the Heritage Rough Rider carefree about cycling the bolt. Apparently it operated your 10/22! 👍🇺🇸 #22aday

These will shoot meaningfully harder thru a rifle barrel than a handgun. Seems like 30 to 40% harder. Never chrony'd it.
