Light stick with balance at the top of the paddle for me.

Token viewer interaction: I have been experimenting with various sticks for the last few years, not always the cheapest pursuit, and landed on a small "conundrum" if you will: I love playing the puck with the low-kick type sticks (Warrior M series, True Project X or HZRDUS), but really prefer making saves with the more mid-kick and dampened sticks (Warrior V series, True Catalyst). I tend to find more consistency when I play the puck with these mid-kick type sticks too and find the steady rigidity to give more confidence in more variable situations. I have yet to try any of the CCM sticks, I'd love to get my hands on an XF Pro but cannot currently warrant it. Likewise, I have yet to try a Bauer stick on the ice, but did get to do some shooting-gallery with a Mach stick that was a bit too tall for me. I do tend to prefer sticks that don't have the shortened shaft, albeit I completely see the merit in it having moved down in paddle size twice in my time playing as an adult to the point where I'm now using a 24" paddle (not adding a modifier here since Warrior has brought their sticks in line with that measurement scheme with the M3 series).

I'd prefer some weight to my stick because I'm a relatively new tendy. I know if the stick is too light for me I tend to not have the stick on the ice as much due to the weight not pulling it down slightly. Nothing wrong with a light stick, just not really for me at this time.

Go with a lower end model, usually on the heavier side compared to top of the line sticks. Bauer GSX is a good starting point👍
