I hated history lessons at school, not because I wasn't interested but I was hopeless at remembering dates so I was always in trouble for poor marks. Learning history with no pressure while riding through the places your talking about is much more fun 😊. That bike looks like fun to ride too. The BEELINE does it's job but I prefer a SatNav that gives voice directions when needed and tells me the time and my speed, I used to ride all over the UK for work so I relied on it a lot. Thanks old-n-Goldie.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Quite agree with you, the riding makes the history so much more fun😂. I prefer a proper sat nav as well, but didn't want a big unit spoiling the naked look of the Spitfire. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

Brought back lots of memories, you rode within a couple of miles of where I grew up & on the right turn in Blyth onto the B6045, that's where I fell off my Suzuki on a diesel spill. As a young teen I went quite a way into one of the caves at the Creswell crags, entrances all fenced off these days. Another famous person from Worksop was actor Donald Pleasence. Decades since I emigrated to Oz so these rides are hugely enjoyable to me. All the best.

Thanks very much, glad you're enjoying my travels and that this one brought back memories for you. Donald Pleasance didn't come up on my search so thanks for that. It's often interesting when you see place's you used to know and haven't seen for years. Trouble is many places are changing so quickly now it's sometimes hard to recognise em. Cheers.

Very nostalgic for me too, invoking many memories. Like free ranger, my girlfriend (now wife of over 50 years) and I used to frequent the caves quite often, way before the place was commercialised. In fact the whole area was our patch. Clumber park and especially Rufford Abbey were great places to explore before they became the “cash cows” they are now. We also used to go inside the Major Oak at Edwinstowe, but I won’t elaborate on that. So many thanks for posting yet another very interesting trip, it’s the icing on the cake when it covers recognisable countryside, especially when it triggers so many personal memories.

@@user-rf9me7xm1w yeah maybe a ride out to the Major oak would be a good video. I peed in there as a kid but I think your story trumps that!

Nearly went to the major Oak on the way back but was running ouf of time. I too went there as a kid and remember hiding inside from my parents. Cause, they knew exactly where I was but as a kid you think differently 😂😂

What a glorious sounding motorcycle ! Snicks nicely into gear and pulls well. I enjoyed the travelogue as well, my ears picked up at the mention of Joe Davis, a fine snooker player. Thanks for the ride.

Thanks, Ai the bobber certainly sounds and goes well. I followed snooker and remember watching Joe's brother Fred on tv on several occasions, they were both exceptional players. Cheers.

A great ride. Ridden past the crags many times & for years have meant to pay a visit. With the beeline, does it display the proposed route on your phone when you input your destination & preferred road types, or is just pot luck on whether you know one or all of the roads you end up taking?
@old-n-Goldie Жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. The phone app is pretty good. You can simply put in a destination and let it plot the route or, build up a route adding places or waypoints you want to go through. You can save routes to use again. It will also record a ride, so you could just set off exploring with it in record mode and then see where you've been when you finish. So far I've found it pretty good and flexible. Did have one slight glitch on a journey when it was giving totally the wrong directions and it appeared to not know where I was. When I checked on the phone even Google maps had me in totally the wrong location. Restarted the phone and it picked up the route straight away and no further problems so I'm putting that one down to my phone. Cheers.

I've recently bought a BEELINE, but not mounted yet, and am looking forward to using it. It is small, unobtrusive and simple and basic to use... much like me I spose, but seriously, those are the reasons for buying it, as i'm not keen on big chunky things clammped on the bars. What I am wondering though is, if the screen is still readable when the sun is shining on it. Love the sound of the exhaust on that little Bobber, are they the original cans, and how about doing a long term ownership video of the Spitfire, like you did with the Beezer? You've got some real good riding roads up in your neck of the woods.... kinda tempts me to get up there for a few rambles myself.

Seeing the Beeline isn't a problem, it's got some sort of adaptive display that gets brighter in daylight using reflected light - well something like that. I've not used this function yet but it's also got a backlight that you can turn on at night. The exhaust is just standard but it is quite loud. Sounds pretty good. I will do a long term review at some point. I've done a couple of hundred miles on it so far so need to get some more clocked up yet. Thanks for watching and for the comments. Cheers.

Good practical review of the B Line, doesn't give much warning of turns or is that just me?. Tip top, narrated tour, thank you.
@old-n-Goldie Жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you liked it. It does give a countdown to turns but when your getting quite close, you can be going quicker than it counts down and there on you before your ready. Cheers.
