This was the clearest way I've ever heard anyone describe loopback on switches. I couldn't hit subscribe fast enough. Thank you!

Amazing video. I never really understood what was the point of a loop back interface. Now that I am using OSPF, I can see the usefulness. I am subscribing for sure!

Congratulations on the didactic way in which you approach the themes in your videos. Even for those who already know the subject and need to take small doubts, the subject is light and less mass.

Thank you so much, I’m finally starting to understand the loopback address, bless you sir!

I'm currently studying for my CCNA and been studying OSPF for the last 2 days and in the end, I was like WTH really is "Loopback and Loopback Addressing". It was tough enough just trying to digest OSPF entirely. Google searched a few and I saw you had a video. I only understood maybe 60% of what you said as some the stuff went clearly over my head and your fingers moved way to fast. However, I think I was able to understand and after rewinding many times to listen to what you said and demo. It seems like a logical address for the router despite the interface and whether it's up or down and or for OSPF communications. I marked this video to rewatch because I might wake up tomorrow confused again. Thanks for the help, i got some more answers beyond what I was looking for also.

Thank you David. You are the only KZbin instructor that I've seen that has wonderfully demonstrated with illustrations how loopback interfaces work vs. physical interfaces. Once again, thank you.

Thanks for good video about loopback. By the way, I bought your CCNA voice (collaboration). I have been waiting for a newer version of it.

The newer version is going to require hardware on your end, so I'm not sure it's going to happen.

Another great video David. Why did you choose to use EIGRP as your routing protocol here? Thanks.
@davidbombal5 жыл бұрын
When I recorded this, CCNA was part of the CCNA and some people find EIGRP easier.
@stampeder16865 жыл бұрын
@@davidbombal "CCNA was part of the CCNA"? I must have lost something in the translation. Must be the time difference. Do you mean EIGRP was part of CCNA?

Great video, David. A question, in real world, Loop-If is used to management, right?. Then How does Loop make secure?
@pterlor095 жыл бұрын
You would then set up a password and enable password checking on telnet or ssh. Also don't forget to encrypt all of your service passwords.

Allows you to see log events on the console. See here: www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/wireless/software/guide/SysMsgLogging.html
@nadytv07267 жыл бұрын
sir. David what model of router usually do you used in you lab experiments?
@andrewcoleman37417 жыл бұрын
He's using an IOSv virtual machine downloaded from Cisco's VIRL platform. Specifically, the VM uses IOS version 15.6(2)T. It sucks that Cisco charges $200/year, even for the personal edition, but you get access to IOSv, IOSvL2, NX-OSv, IOS-XRv, CSR1000v (uses IOS-XE), and ASAv files and can download them onto your HDD to run in GNS3 or EVE-NG.
@nadytv07267 жыл бұрын
im not talking about the IOS version, what i mean is the model of router in GNS3???..but, thanks to your reply Mr.Coleman..have a nice day..=)

terrible intro; but I came for content, thnks. Also please give some s so when we are watching and following along, pausing the video is more legible (interface controls, eg play button, are blocking your command line)
