CCO Ep. 8 - Long-Range Groundhog Hunting (DEER RAN ME OVER!)

In this second part of our dry-season groundhog series, we show that there are two ways to chase groundhogs of the river bottoms; you can attack them on their level, or get them from above. In this video, we stake out on a creek bottom where we know groundhogs are residing during a dry spell, awaiting to snipe them off as they emerge from hiding!

What state allows you to shoot over a road? I'm genuinely interested. That has been highly illegal in all the states I've hunted.

@@joshr1624 Great Question! Pennsylvania is where I hunt, and if you look into the Hunting Digest “General Hunting Regulations,” the exact language reads, “It is unlawful to shoot across a road unless the line of fire is high enough to preclude any danger to road users.” From my personal research into this, a tractor trailer semi truck is about 14 feet tall, and I would assume would be the tallest road user whom I would want to consider when hunting over a road. So, I just get really high up to prevent any of said danger. What states do you hunt?

@@user-tc5tq1bx3q To the debate of many, I will not. I throw them back into the holes to revitalize the hay field we harvest year after year. That hay ends up feeding our cows, which we do eat. So in a way, yes their nutrients are utilized 😊
