So... Hoyeon is like Cupid, and NewJeans are angels watching her do her job, which is making couples. Hoyeon falls in love with someone, and I think in the last scene of the side A, when she gets naked, it's like in the painting (?) and she becomes visible for mortals. Then, in side B, she meets the guy she loves now that she is kind of mortal, but then Tony Leung, makes her immortal again, and the guy cannot see her again. I think it's something like this.

The overall interpretation for me is from the big clue at the giant painting in the museum. This MV is the modern interpretation of the Eros (Cupid) and Psyche myth (I'm sure others will explain the myth in the comment) Other than the modern interpretation of Eros and Psyche, this mv kinda remind me of the idol life. They sing about love and many of their music help others fall in love, but they cannot fall in love themselves due to contract and fan culture. If they want love, they often have to give up their status as idol like how Hoyeon gave up her role as deity to be with her Psyche.

The story of this mv is based on the movie City of Angels which is based on Greek mythology . This film tells the story of an angel who falls in love with a woman and decides to become human to be with her. But shortly afterwards the woman he fell in love with dies. In short, his transition to human was in vain. In the Cool With You mv the woman is a cupid who fell in love with a man to the point of completely forgetting what her job is. Throughout the MV you see her ignore a chance to make the guy fall in love with other woman because now she wants him. At the end of the "A" MV, she gives up her divinity to live her human love. At first everything works out but then when she goes to meet him, another cupid appears behind the guy and she understands everything. She is desperate because she knows that the other cupid is going to make her boyfriend fall in love with another woman.. And that's what happens. Now she's alone without love and without her immortality..

This MV is definitely thought provoking and carries such a mysterious tone the entire time. I thought perhaps the woman was a “shadow” of love, it’s clear she’s yearning for love and chasing it but unable to find it. But she finds someone similar to herself, and she daydreams of what can be real love with this man (hence why I think she’s unable to see her reflection in the mirror). I think her in the rain was a sort of purification or a rebirth, like “washing away the sadness” and she finally gathers the courage to actually meet him. I’m still puzzled over the strange man that appears in the end.
