If you get the bike back add a wheel lock that makes noise... A CCTV cam may not deter them but a 120db alarm might. A locking garage door might be a good addition as well.

I haven't got a TV:) my bike was an old and rusty one, not worth anything, but still. I was using it for transport and bike rides, etc.

Isn't it still legal to set a mantrap with a crossbow in UK? I'd suggest it be levelled about bollocks height.

Have they found it? My bicycle was stolen in Teams, it was my own stupid fault (I lived in a flat, and was planning to go somewhere on it later, so I only chained it to the rails in front of the flat, and then didn't go anywhere, so left it out for the night), but still.

5 times in 9 months... Heres what to do: First off ignore the stupids, setting traps will injure everyone but the robbers and land you in serious bother with the law (by the way I hope your not waiting for the police to help, the best youl get is a crime number. Do the obvious, secure your property. Be sure they will come back. When they do. Get the camera in a better place and then plaster the area with printouts of them. £1000 reward will get you names in hours. Good luck

Not insured for theft. I wouldn't have a road registered bike and be on the road without 3rd party insurance which covers damage to other vehicles if i hit something. It costs a lot more to cover my bike for theft and I couldn't afford that at the time. Also I would be perfectly feasible for my to have a dirt bike in my garage for off-road use only and that wouldn't need to be insured at all. I don't tho as I go green laning.

Jamulajura: everything you've said has already been done a week ago. I actually even had the (super secure sectional) garage door ordered b4 i was robbed but it takes a month from ordering to receiving the door. I thought my chain and ground anchor was a better deterrant and the camera I also thought was clearly displayed. I think I need to move... If ppl stopped robbing me then maybe I could afford it. Posters with reward are up everywhere too.

You might want to change your description to reflect the fact you had insurance, I simply have no sympathy for uninsured drivers since we were hit by one a few years ago, the fucker didn't have a licence either. Always go for at least 3rd party fire n theft, pay monthly if you have to, I didn't even know insurance company's still did 3rd party only, a lot won't sell it anymore.

I was speaking to a bloke who had his KTM chained to the wooden railing outside the flats on Rose Street telling him about this and that he shouldn't leave the bike there. Shame that's the world we live in. I've not found it but I have it on good authority that the lads that nicked it were from the teams and they sold it to some dodgy characters in Chopwell. Incidentally 11AM BBC1 Weds 13th March 2013 (this Weds) it's being shown on a show called "Caught Red Handed", tune in and c me act! haha

Not Insured??? in a garage with no door?? are you crazy?? people who nick bikes make me sick. no doubt lowlife workshy benefits scroungers.Force them to do menial work for thier benefits cheques, so they cant be awake at these times of night to do the stealing!!

it wasn't a case of seeing the light, it was a case of affordability. I live on a cul-de-sac in Whickham now and all the neighbours are pensioners so a lot more secure. Unfortunately the house cost so much that now I'm skint so have no toys to nick! Took me years to save to move here and after this bike was stolen I had another motorbike stolen from elsewhere and then our house was robbed so I didn't have the best luck while living in Dunston :-S
@subbyg00n11 жыл бұрын
CragScrambler: No, where'd you get that idea from? I only passed my test a matter of months earlier so I had 3rd party insurance as is required by law which was still about £500/year or something daft but this means I'm not covered for theft as I couldn't afford the fully comprehensive insurance which was double the price of 3rd party. I wouldn't dare even ride/drive down the road without Tax, MoT and insurance. If karma did exist I'd be doing a lot better than I am right now!
