Hi mate, is this your clip? If yes, can I use it in a moto compilation? Of course, full credits in the video and description.

Never got it back. The lads that did it were arrested then let off cos they didn't have the bike but I've heard off several different sources that it was them and the bike went to Chopwell in exchange for drugs. A couple of hours before you posted this I've just been burgled too!

I live in dunston and my dad had his bike nicked just last year from inside the garage, the bastards broke in in the middle of the day while we were out. probably the same divvies who stole yours. Hope you get it back mate

I see what you did wrong here!! Forgot to make a bigger pit with spikes at the bottom and cover it with twigs for b@st@rds to fall in and die :) Sorry to see this happen. Unfortunately bikes are just too easy to steal. I am constantly checking on my bike even though it is 13 yrs old, in a back garden completely out of sight, only accessible through 2 locked gates, chained to a ground anchor with an alarm and a 24hr CCTV. I hope you get lucky and get it back.

I'm not a fan of the disc lock. 6 bolts and the front disk is disconnected. It's ok for the side of the road but doubt it would help if they're equiped to break into a garage. Glad u got ut bike back tho mate.

Cheers, I hope so too. If I had any spikes I'd end up arrested when the poor robbers hurt themselves. Stupid laws.

I live near a street in Newcastle which is full of bike dealers, people come from miles around to this street as it's known for all the motorbike shops. I've been there, spoken to all the shops and put wanted posters up.

My friends bike was stolen... found it stripped and thrown into a ravine a month later. I say some motion sensing lights and/or alarms would be beneficial... and a bigger chain...

Bloody hell, I've had 3 bikes stolen in the past and I know just how it feels. This was an easy pick for those boys though! I wouldn't have a motocross or enduro bike without an alarmed garage and some better security. The best tool I've found is a baby monitor. I've had a few attempts in the past 10 years, but no ones taken another as yet!! It will and has gone off and saved the day a few times.

The anchor I have can't be removed mate and I have improved on my security. Thanks for the advice though.

a 12gauge alarm mine. they take a 12g blank so are VERY loud!! put the tripwire round the bike wheel, so if someone attempts to move the bike, the wire is pulled and sets off the blank, which will alert you and every person in a 1/2 mile radius!! i have one, you only forget to remove the tripwire ONCE!!

Feel bad for you mate! I know how it feels! And not too long ago my crm was nicked luckily someone noticed kids with the bike all wearing black hoodies and reported it, turned out they didnt have a clue how to hotwire a bike thankfully! So i the cops got it back for me. Then a little while later someone tried again but this time I had a disc lock and a chain and the steering lock.. disc lock saved it and would recommened to anyone!

'Fraid not. Total loss. I've since been told that the bike's in Chopwell after being exchanged for drugs by the first people the police arrested then let off since they didn't have the bike at their own houses at the time.

This is why cameras aren't enough, concealed motion censors with ear piercing alarms are cheap these days... Combined with a Remington 870 loaded with bird shot, or 00 buck if you live in neighbourhoods were thieves have courage.

It was an Abus Citadel but I have a new lock now, very big very expensive. Don't wanna advertise the model on the internet though.
@subbyg00n12 жыл бұрын
I had some comments on the Daily Mail article online but the discussion was closed before i could reply so i just thought i'd mention on here specifically to the one bloke who said "you should have had a bigger lock" Well I've checked and the lock I had which they cut through was 15mm hardened steel! It wasn't cheap rubbish. Anyway there will soon be an insulated sectional door nd more security. As I've mentioned I was in the process of building the garage - it wasn't finnished.

A few years ago my m8 kept banging on about his wonderfully bike lock it was a thick one and his insurance said if the bike ever got stolen they'd pay his excess basically guaranteeing the lock and my bolt cutters went through it like a hot knife through butter he was well shocked
@hotblume12 жыл бұрын
did ur bike have a serial number on it? if it did it should be engraved on the frame if u remember it when you submit a police report they will have a better chance of finding your bike
@apsluke12 жыл бұрын
What lock were you using?. Next time i would suggest getting the almax immobiliser chain which is uncroppable. That would teach those thieving pricks a lessen when it breaks their shitty bolt cutters.

Almost a year has passed since this and now that my security has improved the scum have moved on to breaking into my house for keys. A few hours ago 2 men kicked my kitchen door in and smashed the large kitchen window and jumped into my house looking for keys we think. Time to rethink my house security. Luckily a passer by heard the window get smashed and came to the rescue managing to call the police and restrain one of the blokes until the police got there. I'll get the CCTV uploaded soon

@subbyg00n8 жыл бұрын
I never uploaded it mate as the guy featured in the burglary who catches the lads while one is in my kitchen gave one of them a bit of a kicking and doesn't want it uploaded. The stuff on Caught Red Handed on TV missed that bit out.

what kind of chain was that ? a cheap piece of crap that can be cut with bolt cutters in a second or two ... you need to invest more money and get a proper chain that will resist any bolt cutters , it will set you back around 150 pounds and they'll need a powered angle grinder with a spare disc , the noise will wake up the entire neighborhood ...
@subbyg00n8 жыл бұрын
It was a £120 Oxford Chain and Lock mate through ground anchor.

I'm pretty sure theives are worse CragScrambler cos they steal the bikes AND ride them without insurance. Seems that you have it in you head that I wasn't insured to ride but I was. I had 3rd Party insurance as that's all I could afford so I was covered for riding on the road but not for theft. My car was hit by an uninsured driver once on Xmas eve a few years ago, they drove off and got away with it cost me hundreds to repair so i hate uninsured drivers. Karma not working for me ATM.

I seriously hope you use bolt cutters on the w**kers when you catch them. Have you posted the details on the biker sites? Hope you get it back in one piece m8.

it really is common sense, lock it up, alarm it up, and out of sight PROPERLY...or loose it....your ignorance is your own fault...
@subbyg00n7 жыл бұрын
It's arrogant to think that everyone has somewhere "out of sight" to put it. As you can see I clearly did not have an out of sight place to put the bike and was building one at great expense at the time. Garage was nearly finished but were waiting on the doors to arrive. I had a large fence around my property that you can see in the picture and had the bikes covered which were uncovered in the first video. "I can see your wallet sticking out of your pocket so it's mine as you should have kept it out of sight." Sounds like your morals are spot on mate. Also if you keep a motor vehicle inside your house rather than garage it invalidates your home insurance.
@Lewiseyers7 жыл бұрын
Leon Thompson hardly arrogant, it took seconds to take it,... why's it not locked up to the hilt and alarmed... the bike got stolen because the owner was ignorant of the risk ... youngsters love dirt bikes ..- increased risk=. more effort needed on security... common sense, simple.... bike got knicked because owner allowed it to be taken through lax security
@subbyg00n7 жыл бұрын
Did you watch the previous video? It took them 45mins. Had a geet massive chain on it and CCTV!
@subbyg00n6 жыл бұрын
W P I just seen this... I had a garage, with a door! But it was broken into several times before this and I had a lot stolen. This garage was built to replace my other garage but in the process the other garage had to be knocked down. Imagine if my house didn't have land to put a garage on. Lots of people live in houses that open to the street and no garage. Should those people never be allowed a bike? You think k if there was an alarm on it would have made a difference? The massive chain didn't seem to stop them so I don't think an alarm would either. Crooks always find a way
