Paige Bueckers & the undefeated Hopkins Royals make their 2020 State Tournament debut!! The Royals take on Cambridge-Isanti in this State AAAA Girls Basketball Quarterfinal game.
The Hopkins Girls Basketball team is the defending state champions and are looking for back-to-back titles with Paige Bueckers playing in her 5th year on the varsity squad.

I been living in CT my entire life, and we cannot wait to get her on our team! If she keeps working very hard, she’s gonna b the second coming of the greatest Uconn player of them all: DIANA TAURASI. Just in case anyone forgets, Taurasi won 3 straight National Titles at Uconn, and the last one she basically did without any other star players.

Yes, Diana did do that basically herself for at least the first two, and as for the third, her team did step up, but not on the level of her play. I have been watching the UConn Women for 30 years, and Paige will easily out surpass Diana Taurasi because of Paige's shooting percentage, and her very effective assist ability.

This game was played at 10 AM CT on March 11 2020. That night is when the NBA got hit and over the next few days the world changed. The original plan was to finish this tournament with limited fans starting on Friday but Friday morning they cancelled the remainder of this tournament and the Boys tourney scheduled for the following week. Hopkins did play another game after this one as the 4A semifinals were on Thursday night.
