I use the 40xx series chips quite a lot in my Z80 projects. They are so useful.

I'm glad I bought a swag of them a couple of years ago. Some are quite hard to find now and the freight charges are becoming ridiculous. I cannot find any CD4095 or CD4096 chips to complete my "flip flop" journey - I might actually make them from following the block diagram in the datasheet! I'm looking at the 7400 series TTLs as a possibility as well.

@@onecircuit-as I don't find the 74xx series as versatile, but they are very reliable.

I have one of these chips and want use a single N/O push button to alternate between two 12v lights. How would you go about it? I’d prefer to run the push button to earth but switch the positive side of the lights as they will already be earthed.

I'm not sure I'd use this chip - perhaps a "latching transistor circuit"? Search my channel for this circuit - I did a video a couple of years ago which might be of some use. If you are committed to using the CD4013 to latch then this link (www.discovercircuits.com/PDF-FILES/4013oneshots.PDF) might be of some use.

Cool video, can be very handy. Just one question, what are you doing to get these chips high. lol...
