That, I don't agree with. Look at what's happening with marijuana and the huge crime rates (especially in the black community). Police brutality and non-violent crime rates are already higher than they need to be. Don't make it worse by making tobacco illegal.

My experience has been totally different. My grandpa smoked a pipe, then switched to cigs & cigars, then switched to chewing later in his life. He died at age 78, no cancer. My great aunt smoked so much she carried a small portable ashtray with her. It was rare to see her without a cig in her mouth, she died at age 88 from Alzheimer's, no cancer. My father is now 70, has smoked since he was 14. No cancer, no breathing issues. Same goes for my mother... Crazy how it can affect people differently.

+ƨυɈiɿɘmɘ ɒqɒq You're making some red herring fallacies by saying that breathing air and drinking from plastic bottles. Smoking was the problem being addressed, please don't change the topic. If you want to make a good defense for smoking, honestly please explain to me why you think it's a good idea to give yourself a high risk of cancer rather than say that there are other problems. My Grandmother has been smoking for at least 50+ years and I can't stand to be near her, in her home, or in her car because it makes me sick. I can't stand the scent of cigarettes. The only reason I have for why someone would keep poisoning themselves would be an addiction telling them that their dependent on that drug.

+Hassan Hassan dont listen to some of these people.Some have it drilled in their heads that if you smoke just one cigarette,you're going to die. Not true unless you are just a messed up case who has a whacked system. IT depends on how much you smoke and more so how your body's chemistry reacts to the toxins in the tobacco. You will be at risk,but I cant tell you to stop or start smoking,thats a decision you have to make for yourself.

ƨυɈiɿɘmɘ ɒqɒq Well like all other hard core illegal drugs, people addicted to nicotine/tobacco, would have to go on supplements to help wean them off of it. Cigarettes are just as bad as all other drugs.
@FrayTitannia8 жыл бұрын
+watchensee Disclaimer: I do not condone cigarettes in any form. Back in the 1920s there was a law passed that outlawed alcohol. That law caused crime rates and violence to skyrocket. This led to the first amending of an amendment, as well as the only. Clearly, alcohol is now again legal. If cigarettes were to be outlawed, a similar circumstance would arise. However, sufficient awareness for the harmful effects would supposedly be able to curb and eventually stop anyone from going down such a path.
@birdies83978 жыл бұрын
Because, then crime rates (which are already too high) would go WAY up. Smoking is terrible, obviously, but it isn't something that should be made illegal. Look at what's happening with marijuana, and the burden on poor and black communities. Do you want that to get worse?
@gigilewis14686 жыл бұрын
This is why you should not smoke. Because you can get mouth cancer and lung cancer. Lose all your teeth and all your hair. And other bad things. I almost forgot throat cancer. All those things can kill you.

I'm sure the CDC & network TV have the best of intentions with these commercials, & I feel so sorry for those in them. But they have gotten out of control to the point of being disturbing, annoying, gross, offensive, harassing attacks on us in our homes by bombarding us with these gross commercials every 5-10 minutes throughout the day.... Peaking on national news hours during our meal times makes us instantly loose our appetite. I haven't watched the news on network TV in weeks because these commercial attacks throughout the broadcasts. We have to change the channel or shut off the TV as soon as they come on. Yesterday it was so bad we couldn't watch network TV all day because these commercials. It wouldn't be so bad if they were on once a couple hours, or a few times a day. But they are been run constantly during the news & meals. These commercials accomplish nothing if all the do is make people turn, walk away, change the channel, or shut off the TV. We have a new rule in our house now. No network TV an hour before or during meals thanks to these commercials. There's a form of internet harassment called goatsee. It's when trolls post unsolicited photos to unsuspecting forums or internet groups of the most horrid, gross, & disturbing pictures they can find in the world. Goatsee is a form of internet harassment & doesn't help anybody's cause! It's intended to ruin & shut down forums & groups on the internet. I WILL NOT BE HARASSED BY GOATSEE ON MY TV EVERY 5-10 MINTUTES!!! It's a gross product of sick minds, & not useful advertisement. It does not belong on my TV every 5-10 minutes all day.
