How about keeping these criminals locked up rather than looking for what to blame for your failed policies.

I was the victim of a violent crime, attacked with a machete and tortured for over 4 hours. He was charged with multiple felonies, but after all of the plea deals, he only was charged with one felony, assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to three years in December, but every day in county jail counted as 2 days towards his sentence so now his first parole hearing is in December only one year later. I am terrified. I'm nowhere near close to healed from this attack and I have to worry about him getting out...I was told I am protected by a ten year protective order, but that will not stop him. I begged the judge for a real psychological evaluation during my impact statement, he did not order it in the sentence. He will get out, and I am certain he will kill someone, probably me, and has probably killed in the past. If he had been sentenced to get mental help, he may have had a chance.

a friend of a friend served 2 years out of a 6 year term. Early release helped him hit the streets harder until he killed an older man in Gilroy on Valentines Day 2014. He is now a lifer at 23 years of age

There is no road map for inmates' only suggestions. They should have to complete class and therapy before being released. If those aren't done, it looks like your staying until completed. Due to not showing a sign of rehabilitation.

About the author (2020) Chris La'Cour has been incarcerated since 1998. Since he was 17 years old. With promise and potential for so many areas in life, he chose to be a gang member. Involved and well known within the entertainment industry, he's done numerous music videos and commercials. Almost embarking on a music/movie career at the time he was incarcerated. He told us "regardless of other areas I could have excelled in, once the streets capture my mind and attention it was all over". The street life became his addiction of choice. Upon his incarceration, however, he began to educate himself and developed a different state of mind. A business and political state of mind. As well as an individual that would do anything to help Urban America evolve into a better part of society. "all I want to do is help my people reap what they deserve. I'm tired of seeing my people at the bottom of the barrel, when they harness potential to be the greatest society has to offer". He is more than the person that just sees and speaks about a problem, he is a man of action. That is why he has formed the nonprofit organization La'Couria. A business and economic center with an emphasis on mannerism and refined cultivation, that would not only teach the Urban Youth and adults business and economics, but it will train them as ladies and gentlemen as well."We are very good at discovering the problem and articulating it in words. But we are not good at executing a solution. And that solution and the execution of it, is all I'm concerned with. Everything elseis just 'mouth fart'. Hot, stinky ass air". He is now the author of a renowned piece of magnificent literature ' Book of Kings'. A book that reflects the brilliance, sagacity and eruditional mind that impressively flourished while incarcerated. Without question, he has evolved into a man of great intellect and genius. One that has not only written on the subject of mastery, success and productivity; he is clearly executing these theories. Chris La'Cour has been incarcerated since 1998. Since he was 17 years old.
