I always appreciate Chuck's healer guides. Even in cases like this, where he admits disc is not his best class and that there are better discs both on the ladder and in AWC, his guides are super helpful because: - first and foremost, Chuck is a Healer. Even in a meta where offensive healers reign supreme, Chuck is always approaching a class first from a "how do I keep my team alive" standpoint. For the rest of us plebs, this is the highest-value information we can get about how to play any healing class in arena. - he goes deep. Whether it's explaining in detail what talents he's taking and why, macros, cooldown rotation, even positioning and spec-specific gameplay advice, no other content creator goes into this much depth when making a healer guide. - he knows how to teach. This is a weird one, but the reality is that just because someone is good at something it doesn't mean that they're good at teaching other people how to do it. Chuck is really good at imparting information and advice to people who want to be good at something he's good at. That's not actually particularly common in the pro gaming scene. - he's just a fun, friendly healer dad and it's hard not to like this guy lol I appreciate you, Cdad.

I love watching cdew for the simple fact that he is very knowledgeable about pvp. And I also appreciate the fact that he's really good, and doesnt conform to everyone else and use an mmo mouse. all of his keybinds are on his keyboard, and as a healer that takes alot of dexterity in your keyboard hand. But yes, he is also a good person and good dad.

Here is something I'd recommend some of you might want to try out if you hate changing targets: I have my healing target as my target and my dmg target as my focus. I don't use target of target because sometimes a rogue or someone might target healer to blind them. I rarely have to change my focus in arena and it allows me to easily alternate healing and dmg (which is great for making sure PW:S is every 4th cast). My macros are setup so If I am targetting a friendly it will dmg my focus and if I target an enemy it will attack that (so I can dot multiple targets or something): #showtooltip Purge the Wicked /cast [@target, harm, nodead] Purge the Wicked /stopmacro [@target, harm] /cast [@focus, harm, nodead] Purge the Wicked replace purge the wicked with w/e spell. Highly recommend. With 0 interrupts, it's hard to find a use for a focus target so essentially I use a focus target as my 2nd target with macros to switch focus (shift wheel up, shift wheel down, shift mouse button 5)

I love this idea. Actually its so good one must wonder, why in wow you don't have by default two targets at all times, your "help" and your "harm" target. But this could simulate it. Could also swap the roles. Target your mates with focus and keep the regular target for enemies. This way you wouldn't brake your mental model for attacking for all the other classes you may play.

So does this mean if I am targeting my team mate I can do damage to my focus (the kill target for example) while still targeting my team mate. And if I change my target from team mate to a different enemy (non focus) that same damaging spell will instead hit them instead of my focus? Sounds like a good idea to me

It's funny to me that you mentioned the damage potential while being a deep healing build. I've been messing around with wpvp lately on my disc priest, and I have a FULL damage build. I'm talking shadow cov, schism, equalibrium, mind bender stuff, etc, all the max damage right side talents, and big mind games. It's hilarious. You end up super tanky and can absolutely crank damage. It's so fun ganking people with it. They never see it coming.

I never realized the numbers on mindgames were so low (35k on my priest). But it still "feels" kinda good. People panic when I press it. The -damage also works in deep damp and ignores healing reduction, so it gains value fast in solo q over time. But freeing up 3 talent points sounds also pretty nice. Have to try the pom build.

The problem with mind games is that ppl dispell it instantly. Which seems fine but usually you have purge of the wicked there too…and with that dispelled, any following mind blasts do way less dmg. I dont like mind games anymore bcs of that…

PI doesn't trigger GCD, i have it macro to mind games for burst. That way I can target an ally and use their target for my damage rotation. I noticed that SWD still lights up on your bar when your friendly target's target is executable.

How do you play with bigdebuffs? That addon ruins my fps like crazy since probably prepatch. For example playing bgs drops me to even single digit fps, while my cpu/gpu usage is like 5-15% all the time. Might not be just bigdebuffs, but turning it on and off is a huge difference instantly.

I have come to the conclusion that casting offensive spells leads to death If you got time to dmg you got the fight anyways Go find worse odds and heal your ass off Just bgs and 3s for me so far Haven't felt this impact fully and durable as disc since cata I use to run Holy in pvp since lol Im finna give it a try soon Pvp this season is cheap.and quick to get into also which is great Bought a 60 to 70 boost for 150k gold Pvp gear was cheap on ah Alliance wins alot more than some previous years too it feels Top heals all the time low death ez Power word life was the game changer for disc

at start enemy team is trying to focus on one target and ps is better for the first cd. Especially that you need to start dealing dmg and rupture will waste your globals. Also rupture resets cd from ps. So it looks like ps - rupture - ps is better option imho

If disc can do so much dmg while not healing, why not to play dps/disc/healer in 3on3 ;-) with full dps build on disc? Having that backup with dmg reduction or few other CDs would make it harder to lose?

I'm playing preservation evoker and I swear 99% of my games are just against disc. The best I can hope for in most cases is 3-3 because the disc can pump out 4x the damage with ease.

@@khanzy. I got 2.1k as disc first week of the season before they were buffed...since then it's just been all the other healers and i don't touch disc. but 99% of matches are vs them lol gets so old.

@@JSFXX Disc was perfectly fine before and then they gave it all these crazy buffs for no good reason. Sadly now it's just FOTM. DPS losing brain cells and have no idea how to play with any other spec but disc because it's so brainless now. I can sit there with 7m healing done and have people accusing me of 'not healing'. I guess they just don't know what it's like to not have pain suppression pumped down your throat off cooldown.

@@khanzy. it's because disc has so much dmg mitigation in general ...i know as a monk it can legit be like 20m healing overall to 12m healing from a disc priest and i will lose 2-4 and get accused of 'not healing'. meanwhile they dont use a single defensive ( bc they're used to not having to use them bc of disc ) 😭
