Even if the battery is burnt out those APC UPS still have value. Not sure if you could have run your old furnace thorugh one of those but it could have protected it from the power surge. Good to have to protect any sensitive electronics that aren't running from battery.

Apc is fine, don't get me wrong. But you don't know how people have used them. If they were structurally overloaded.. I wouldn't risk this. The small ones sell new for real cheap.. not worth the risk of using these. Especially if you know two of them are already smoking.

Nice load good money. I am surprised they don't dock you for leaving the ends on your wire.they do here in Michigan about 20 to 25 cents.That was a Huge fridge Phil I bet it was very heavy
