CDO (or Canada del Oro) is legit. I mean that whole heartedly. It's Tucson AZ's "The Whole Enchilada". Starting at 9,000 feet or so there is tons of backcountry riding to enjoy. Close to 7,000 feet of descent that takes you through forest, rocky stream crossings, and then spits you out into classic Tucson desert riding.
The shuttle for this is quite challenging to setup right due to the pickup and drop off points. The drive up from the bottom of the mountain is about an hour, and after spending 4+ hours (4 if you're charging hard) the last thing you'll want to do is drive all the way back up. Homegrown MTB is a great resource if you need a shuttle or a guide (I highly recommend a guide for this ride due to the difficulty of reading/finding the trail).
