CDP: Post-AGOV Tistina, Hybrid Decks: Volcanic, Dinosaur, Ghostrick, & Firewall

Hey, great coverage for Tistina!! In your experience, is pure or hybrid the best to go? What would be the worst commonality in all of the decks’ “what can be improved” feeling? I liked Tistina for the art, but seems like the experience can be fun about it!

Out of what I tried, I think Dino-Tistina is the best, especially if optimized further from where I went with it. It gives you another interaction on the opponents turn, and serious OTK potential that can be unexpected. At the end of the day, that's mainly a pure build, just with a small Dino engine. What could be improved? I wish they got another LIGHT Tistina like Demigod that recovered a Tistina card from the GY while special summoning itself to the opponent's board. That would eliminate the need for something like the Ken Gen engine to put a faceup mon on the opponent's board.

What do you think about goblin riders? They were announced just 2 days ago and I wonder if Tistina Goblin Riders could be a good deck

I love the concept of Goblin Rider, because it finally makes Main Deck cards to enable R3NK Spam. Yes, there have been decks that do R3NK summon, but they either have better options at other levels, have turned to being Link decks, or just peter out after one summon. I also like how they're a double edged sword, able to be used against the opponent as well as your Xyz mons. As for combining the two, maybe it could work! But then, the two themes both Special Summon a lot, and you would need to find yet another engine or archetype to spend your Normal Summon on each turn. So mixed bag IMO.

Why not an Agnimal Candle in Volcastina?

Agnimal is best when used to modulate its level for Synchro Summoning purposes. Quite frankly, I felt like i was already limited in ED space and wouldn't want to carve out space for Synchros. But there is an argument that it can combine with Banshee to give you yet another material to use for Link Summons.

New tistina can, but there are better options for using your Normal Summon now.

It’s better to play the trap as a tech in ninja than to play a hybrid version mainly cause ninjas is normal summon reliant.

How did volcanic Tistina feel?

I like it because it gives the theme an element of unpredictability, in that most people aren't expecting Scattershot wipes from Tistina. The Volcanics also offer a variety of different forms of disruption to influence the duel on the opponent's turn, adding to what the Tistina can struggle a bit with.

I was thinking of cooking up a Tistina Icejade deck in some way or another, maybe an illusion but I guess a girl can dream X3 Ghostricks Tiatina seem very adorable, may think about building that one, and maybe leaving out super mega expensive cards to not bleed out my wallet🤣

I'm always one for trying weird and strange concepts, so never apologize for that! As far as Icejade/Tistina specifically, Icejade supports the WATER attribute more than the Aqua type, so it's just a bit of a challenge to square away the two themes. But Icejade can reliably put out more Lv10z to use as material!
