Welcome to the first CDP of the month, and this time we're combining the Dark Magician and Shining Sarcophagus strategies into one cohesive Yugi-deck! Starting with the Shining Sarcophagus side of the deck, this theme revolves around its Continuous Spell that can tutor any card that mentions it once per turn. This Spell is key to unlocking the true potential of your deck, since almost everything else in its support suite requires it to be on the field. For example, Silent Magician Zero can negate any Spell Card or effect activation, while you control Shining Sarcophagus. The best card in its lineup is Ties of Friendship, a Normal Spell that Special Summons up to 2 Level 4 or lower monsters from your hand or Deck that mention Shining Sarcophagus. Ensuring even more consistency is Tricolore Gadget, which tutors Shining Sarcophagus or any S/T that mentions it on summon! Now the glue that holds this hybrid strategy together is up next, and that's Dark Magician the Ebon Sorcerer. It can be Special Summoned from the hand while Shining Sarcophagus is on the field, plus it becomes Dark Magician on the field, enabling everything else in your deck!
Alrighty then, time to move onto the Dark Magician side. The Dark Magician strategy revolves around the Ultimate Wizard himself, aiming to leverage powerful Spell Cards to Fusion or Ritual Summon your way to victory. Enabling this is Secrets of Dark Magic, a Quick-Play Spell that can do either, as long as you use a Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl as material! It's no Secret - the Dark Magician theme has consistent access to almost all of its support cards, as not only does Magician's Rod gets to tutor any S/T that mentions Dark Magician when Normal Summoned, but also Illusion of Chaos tutors any non-Ritual monster that mentions Dark Magician, plus there's Dark Magical Circle that can grab one off the top 3 cards of your deck. In a pinch, you can even turn to Soul Servant to place a card that mentions him on top of the deck, then use its GY effect to draw the card you need! These are all essential consistency boosters, since both sides of this hybrid strategy feature multi-card combos to succeed. That said, these combos can combine ever so excellently to ensure that you leave no crumbs as you destroy and banish away any traces that your opponent even tried to duel you. Cool. But a small Shining Sarc package in a DM deck could do wonders. I can see Conjurer setting up the pop effect with Magical Dimension so you can draw 1 and Set 1 when you resummon Ebon.

Grat deck. I like how if one purt of the deck runs out of options, the other kicks in. I‘d love to see some more iconic yugi monster get a gold sarcophagus version, like valkyrion would be awesome. PS: Magicians souls is finally affordable so am deffinitely gonne recreate this build

I would like that too. The Sarcophagus theme is just super flexible. I honestly just wish that the Summoned Skull was a bit better to work with Archfiends in general :S

Another dumb suggestion: there were some Vernusylph decks featuring Naturia Beast. Ever done a Naturia Landoise deck? Landoise can negate monster effects by discarding a spell. Vernusylph of Floushing Hills can search a Vernusylph spell for Landoise's effect. Costly I bet.

Hi there! There aren't dumb suggestions, only concepts that aren't realistic (yet). As far as Vernusylph using the Naturia synchros, that is a very common way to play the deck, and I think how they intended the pure deck to go. Some vernu builds even included an EARTH level 1 tuner just to make Beast. On the other hand, Landoise is just a bit... outclassed. The Spell from hand cost is super specific, especially for a deck that wants to discard its hand to trigger vernusylph effects and move the gamestate forward. In a way, that's exactly what Vernu does - convert otherwise useless EARTH mons in hand into direct card advantage. It's why they work so well with Gadgets, since the Gadgets generate a ton of advantage that needs smth else to fully realize. All that said, I have seen a cool concept using Vernu and Hex Core EARTH to make Naturia Exterio, but Landoise doesn't really make an appearance there.

Suggestion: Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon Deck. The trap recycling effect sounds nifty for Impermanence. But then I realize it requires attacking with Tyrant and maybe it already went for the kill.

Hihi! I love Tyrant Dragon, but I don't really know if that's a solid enough deck concept to build around. As you said, BEWD decks tend to win after bringing out one of their Fusions, so you don't really have the luxury of running more Traps. And since Tyrant needs BEWD, it's hard to fit him in elsewhere. But I'll take this to my workshop to explore and think about e.e

@@YGOrganizationQuincymccoy I thought I wrote a reply to this. BE Tyrant is immune to True Light's wipe (BE version of Eternal Soul) and it can search Ultimate Fusion. Might be too xenophopic to pull something out.

Xenophobic isn't the right word, since there isn't anything in Blue-Eyes that locks you to just their cards. But it's almost like the rest of the deck would be held back by running the Blue-Eyes cards, or if you went further on the Blue-Eyes side, building around Tyrant holds back its other OTK potential.

Just curious on your opinion on how this deck profile would do against a chimaera/pure chimaera deck and they use super poly. Thanks

It depends; Chimera has a much better floor, in that duels play rather similarly due to their inherent consistency. But it doesn't have as much of a power ceiling. Thus, this deck would have much higher highs, but even when it draws bad, Chimera will be able to execute regardless

@@YGOrganizationQuincymccoy On another note, will you be covering Dark World in combination with Fabled? Sequentia can summon any Fiend Fusion, not just Light Fiends. The deck can put up powerful disruption, make Rank 6s, Groza Tyrant of Thunder, and more.

@pvzbronygodgaming8476 I've done Fabled DW before, twice actually, so I don't currently plan on revisiting that right away post Fiendsmith. I do have a few more Fiendsmith builds coming down the pike, but it is a good thought to have in mind for other Fiend fusions....

Heart of the cards baby! But in seriousness, it's very flexible in that you have so many options and plays you can make, that it isn't linear at all, and doesn't shoot for a specific combo every game. But nevertheless, the end goal of outadvantaging an opponent is the same
