Hey Fingerboarders, I hope this trick tip helped you learn the heelflip! As I said, the heelflip is not a beginner trick, so don't get too down on yourself while you learn it! It's a bit tricky :) Let me know if this video helped you get your heelflips down!

Seeing that taylor clip while i was practicing my heelflips just made something click in my brain, and my heelfip rotations have been much more consistent due to that little tidbit. And for that, i thank you!! Shred on‼️‼️

How the hell do you only have 9k subs? This is the best FB channel on youtube easy. I lost heelflips thanks to learning varial heels and this positioning tip gave them back to me. Thanks Chris!

Nice tutorial! The pre loading is definitely a little fingerboard hack so I’m pleased you got that in there.

Definitely! It's a technique that many fingerboarders don't realize they do. I started using the technique intentionally back in 2010!

Very helpful tutorial. Any tips on how to prevent the board from doing a front shuv/turning into a varial heel?

I knew right away who you were going to bring up when you mentioned Heelflips aha! I learned both the Heel and SW Heel (and other variations) from watching a ton of Taylor R footage way way back in the day. I can't think of anyone else who's well known that can put those into grinds and combos as easily as he did. He made it look so effortless, like a regular Kickflip into grind almost

Yes! I only had one person in my mind for this tutorial 😂 Every time Taylor and I played games of skate it would be Heelflip b/s Crook on the BRR Stairset Rail, Heelflip f/s 5-0, etc. And it was almost always first try! He made me much better at heelflips 😺

Awesome video Chris! Can't believe I never thought of loading like that. Busted some super clean heelflips (okay, not Taylor level) shortly after.

Glad to hear it helped! Busting out a clean heel feels so good 😁 yeah, I actually learned about the concept from skateboarding!

Great tutorial dude, we need more quality fb tutorials like this. Im only a few months into fingerboarding so im still stuck on impossible kickflips ad pop shuvs but this was a great watch anyway.

Hey man this is a great tutorial I started 3 months ago and have taught myself all the tricks I know this is the first tip video I have watched since I’ve started. I have began to understand how to do a heel flip it makes me feel good seeing that the tip about rolling your hand forward I have discovered to do that on my own but was getting stuck stuck on controlling the rotation and this helped me so much
@cdplaya Жыл бұрын
Glad it helped! The rolling forward motion is different from any other motion while learning how to fingerboard - so it's great you were already on track!

I see you ride a pretty loose truck set up. Is there any merit to riding loose in terms of learning tricks? Does or would it help with learning tricks faster?
@cdplaya2 жыл бұрын
I would not recommend learning on trucks as loose as I ride. I'd say use medium-tight to tight trucks initially! I use loose trucks because I like how it feels. It can actually make tricks harder to do though 😂
@MichaelBrianInc2 жыл бұрын
@@cdplaya I sort of figured it might be harder. I ride medium and so far really like the balance of it. I seen in a video recently where a guy was asking his buddies about their set up.. One of them rides with only the bottom bushings in, no top bushing. Pretty nuts lol. It’s probably a pretty crazy feel having it that loose.
@cdplaya2 жыл бұрын
That's how my current setup is, no top bushing! haha

Been fingerboarding on and off for almost 15 years now and the heelflip is still something I can't get right. I CAN do them, it's just I hate the way they feel and they never feel "right". The way I do it I sort of curl both fingers and then slightly push my hand forward in the air and it causes it to heelflip but it just feels dirty. Like I wish I could slide my finger up the way I do for kickflips but no matter where I slide it the board does a kickflip I can never get it to flip the other way by doing it like that.
