Excellent job! I teach art lessons, and I like to use this video to help students pick out basic simple shapes in the scene. Good opportunity to talk about thru hiking, backpacking, leave no trace, and of course sharing your utube channel with their parents.

I think you might have answered me in the CDT facebook group when i asked for videos like this. You pointed to your longer stuff, which i had said i was saving for closer to my hike. THen you make this?!! This was an amazing little teaser. I've already watched a lot of your desert section stuff, but i just noticed this came out. It has a lot of stuff i hadn seen in other shorter videos. well done

Yeeaahhh, I decided to jump on board and make a short CDT video. Way to call me out! Haha. In addition to the longer series, as a trailer of sorts, it makes sense. Plus it was a fun video to make. Just watched your Director of Toughness video, very cool! Man you've been all over, that is awesome. Just subbed ya! Are you going to be filming your CDT hike?

@@SeekingLost Last year I made my own route from Southern California to Pueblo, CO, then mostly followed the American Discovery Trail the rest of the way to Delaware. For this trip from the UP down to Key West I'm using parts of the North Country Trail, North Central State Trail, snowmobile and ORV routes, the Buckeye Trail, Sheltowee Trace, a little piece of the AT and then the Florida Trail. The gaps will be filled with whatever trails I find or simply road walking (which I think most of Georgia will be). However, I'm using the Gravelmap website to at least try to find as many dirt roads as possible.

Beautiful hike & amazing video. Binge watched your whole journey thru the CDT. Really love your videos. The angles, the editing, the music, the humor & heart that shine thru them... Especially the off trail adventures in the Wind River Range & the Tetons with Katie & Hopeful. Thank you for sharing the amazing journey! Can't help but ask, do you know what happened to Katie & Hopeful in the bad weather in Glacier park after you guys separated towards the end of the CDT hike? Did they have to turn back?
@SeekingLost4 жыл бұрын
So Katie bailed with me back to East Glacier. I decided to road walk the rest of the way, and she ended up meeting up with another hiker named Magoo in St Mary's... they hiked the rest of the way to Waterton Lake in the snow! Hopeful pushed on from Old Man Lake over two more passes in the snow, and he bailed at St Mary's. He ended up road walking to Port of Piegan (where I ended) a couple days later. We all made it :)

Hey Vlad! I'll be honest, I just started editing a week ago. I have 52 hours of footage to go through which is going to take months. The project sounded too daunting after I returned home, when all I really wanted to do was be outside and enjoy the last remaining days of good weather before 6 months of cold and grey set in here. Then I won't mind sitting in front of the computer all day! I wanted to make a teaser video, but I can't even do that until I've gone through all 52 hours of footage. Oh and also, going on another 200 mile hike in a month :) I hope to post a channel update video soon to address the BRT videos and announce the next hike.

Can you tell me what happened to Hopeful in Glacier when you guys separated due to the snow at the end of your CDT hike? Did he make it to Waterton or have to turn back? That weather looked miserable, I can't see how anyone could have finished that without significant winter gear (i.e. ski's or snow shoes and more warm clothes than you guys were carrying). I see in your trip back to Glacier the next summer that at least Katie made it out alive.
@SeekingLost4 жыл бұрын
Katie went back out there and finished the Highline Trail to Waterton with a hiker name to Magoo. Crazy, I know, to bail out and then want to go right back out there. But that's exactly what she did. Hopeful went over one more pass, triple divide pass, before bailing down to St Marys, walking into Babb, and finishing at port of piegan like I did. Nobody died 😁
