Excellent presentation. for some reason I was thinking that the VM Motori was going to power the diesel Colorado. Glad to see that it is a Duramax but I wish we could get this truck delivered to the US. Thank you!
Thai, it's a global truck, designed in Brazil, and initially built in Thailand. We in North America will be waiting for the 2015 model year to get this truck.
I got one. The 2.8L Diesel 4X4 in the South African Trailblazer/ Colorado-Auz. I get on average 9L /100km. Great for such a big vehicle with great space and versatility..
I guess I missed answering your direct question. Will it have a duramax diesel? Yes, I believe that's what they're calling it. The new engine production facility in Thailand should be making them, possibly with VM motori in italy. VM Motori would be given the specs or the rights to produce the engine I'd think, allowing GM to keep up with global diesel demand.

Do you allow tours and if so is there a point of contact to take a tour? I'm working in Afghanistan and would like to take another vacation in Thailand. Thinking about buying a GMC Canyon w/ 2.8 diesel (not sure if the GMC is also built there) and would like to checkout your plant. I'm unable to go to your website from my location but will try later on to see if there is contact info posted there. A yes or no reply here would be cool. Thanks.
I got 2.5 chevy colorado i get average of 11 km pe litter in normal driving on manual tranmission and you got the power at 2000 rpm at 100 km per hour thats i said u have a power and low consumption diesel......

God I hope so, apparently GM requested VM Motori (this is an Italian company that GM owns a 50% stake in,fiat owns the other 50%, they make diesel engines only) to increase their motor output from 150 to 350-400 motors a day. This to me is a good sign we in north america could see the 2.5L diesel and 2.8L Turbo diesel. The use of the 3.0 V6 diesel is highly unlikely due to the cost of manufacture etc. Cross your fingers because everyone that wants a new rado from what I've seen wants a diesel.

If Chevrolet wants to keep trucks running longer, why do they put a timing belt on the diesel engine?
@Terminxman9 жыл бұрын
+Michael Walker Not sure, I've been spoiled because my Toyota has a timing chain, but apparently it's much cheaper and easier to replace a belt.
Thais cultures credit incomplete pick up truck one ton as expensive and bad ideal. Thais Customers Chevrolet want 4×4 2.8 duramax in c-cab, x-cab. End report.
