His valor and fame spread, leading him to Madurai, where King Thirumalai Nayakar sought his prowess to safeguard the city from marauding bandits.

In a daring move, Madurai Veeran disguised himself one night to meet Vellaiyammal, and together they devised a plan to elope. However, this act led to accusations of treason against him. As a result, Madurai Veeran was subjected to brutal punishment, and his limbs were severed. Witnessing this horrific act, Vellaiyammal, overcome with grief, chose to end her life.
Miraculously, through fervent prayers to Madurai Meenakshi, Madurai Veeran's strength and limbs were restored. His enduring legacy continues to inspire and protect the people of Madurai, celebrating his indomitable spirit and unwavering courage.
