Although I have a simple Craft Robo, I find this video very interesting. I would love to understand a bit more about cutting speed, when a slower or a quicker one is preferred. Thanks for uploading this.

@Fancylooks What I've found is that a moderately slower speed (15-25 setting) is best for accuracy on thicker material such as this 100lb cover cardstock. When cutting thinner, more malleable material, the slowest setting I use is 40. But again, for fine detail such as small fonts and circles, a slower speed setting is best. Even though a vinyl or a cardstock is rated at a specific thickness, brands still vary in their production quality. Making test cuts on your various media is recommended.

On the cutter, when in ready mode, press Pause >> press Next until >> Command >> press Enter >> GP-GL >> Enter >> DOWN arrow to set Step Size to match with what’s on the software >> Enter Again, your cutter must match what is on your Cutting Master Software. The Step Size is found in your Advanced Tab when Cutting Master job window is open.

When the plotter is turned on, it briefly display either HL or GL on the LCD If it displays GL, it means the plotter is in graphtecs GPGL mode. GPGL has 4 resolutions. 254, 508 , 1016 and 2540 steps per inch press pause keep hitting Next till you get to Command. press enter It should say GPGL press enter That gets you to Step Size. Make a note of the number, and make sure Cutting Master is also set for that resolution.

The specs say that the maximum thickness of material is 0.25mm but what you're using seems to be much thicker. Won't it damage the machine?

If you're cutting from Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw - first things to check are: 1) Command Language of your Cutter should be GPGL (NOT HPGL) 2) Check that your Step Size (254, 1016 etc...) MATCHES from your Cutting Master 2 "Advanced Tab" with your plotter's setting.
