I feel like this game could've had potential for more variety in the deaths. The deaths here are either just the monsters killing you in different ways or doing something that is not smart anyway.

Gee, this game more dark than "uninvited", "spectacular" etc. Also i like how the pun on first death is from "Zork" game which happens after you put lights out in a dark areas and you get this message on death scene.

I remember Return to Zork a bit although I watched someone play it when I was a kid.

So there's one thing that gets me about this, specifically the possession deaths. Most of the possession deaths: "Your will is no longer your own..." The last one: "TASTY TREATS!" Part of me almost feels like the drain cleaner one is just so.... out of place compared to the rest of the possession deaths. Almost like either they should have gone with the takeover for that one too, or made all of them hallucination-induced.

I think that occurs with attacking the demon too, where one of the deaths you think you hit the demon but it's an illusion and you kill yourself as opposed to it redirecting your blow to kill you.

"It seems cutting yourself with the same knife you butchered a bat with was a grave error on your part." A more important question would be why the hell did you even cut yourself lol (unless it's a mandatory action to finish the game, didn't play and even hear of it before, so I wouldn't know). Still a pretty neat detail for a game to remember, and the best part is that it actually makes lots of sense. Cuts are just fresh wounds, but the infections, oh booy...

personally, looks really good this game, but i think more portraits or images showing the death scene wouldn't look so bad, even i wonder if gonna be a sequel off this newborn from shadowgate and uninvited spiritual sequel

That would be nice for the dog but I think the other monsters have enough detail especially for small details like the succubus and demon kid showing damage from weapons.
