My late Grandmother lived in a country where the fire department was so corrupt and in the 60’s there was a fire in the area she lived and the the fire department was asking for bribe for training the fire houses on your house or else. They were asking something like 10k local currency which was 1US$ = 2 local currency. Needless to say the whole town burned down. After that, the local businesses formed their own fire brigade. To this day, the private fire brigades are still operating helping the government fire departments.

The outcome would have been better if they had got equipment up there and been prepared,when they knew what was coming. And if they hadn't of fired 65 probably experienced firefighters for not getting jabbed. And if they would clear out the underbrush and dead trees all the time, it's called forestry maintenance. And if they had not cut the depth of 18million dollars, and sent half their equipment to Ukraine. Should I go on? Plainly put, there is no excuse for any of this. If u live in that ridiculous state, get out while u can

Dr Hanson, although you don't know me, I want to share that I grew up watching Dr Thomas Sowell on a variety of outlets and he is one of my favorite communicators with unmatched wisdom, knowledge, intelligence, critical thinking, and eloquence... until I found you and now I have two. I do have one slight concern given the Doha agreement with the Taliban in 2020, the number of times that the Taliban broke red lines, and the continued US & NATO forces drawodwn during the period of violence that happened between 2020 and the ending of his term. I believe that President Trump was the only choice on the 2024 ballot, that Federal and State governments weaponized the justice branch of government and colluded along partisan lines to jail and bankrupt him, and his principles and values connect with mine. Thank you for all that you do and I'm encouraging my high school aged son to consider Hillsdale College in large part because of your work, principles, values, character, and wisdom and knowing you teach there. Numbers 6:24-26 and shalom shalom🙏

The private fire brigades were manned by laid off fire fighters or people who wanted to be fire fighters. The budget cuts the mayor handed down kept them from being hired. For the union to say the private firefighters were not as good or well trained as the Union fire fighters was absurd. The private fire fighters were the only ones that knew what they were doing and saved houses at $0 cost to the city.
