I hope i help you save money as well buddy. I do recommend that 10ft Voyager Surf Rod because that was my baby for this year in rods. My baby baby lifetime reel was posted out today:)

Nice one Chris! I don't think we get sand fleas here in the UK, but I've thought about a sand spike instead of carting a big tripod around. I've not seen one here with the foot bar to push it into the ground, and not sure how well it would work on the shingle beaches we mainly fish. Stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍

Gotta use what works in your location. A simple aluminum sand spike will work. Lightweight & strong. Even a 3ft beveled edge aluminum 3/16in pipe w/a notch will do.
