I love how everyone yells at the judges for doing their jobs, judging! Yeah it's obvious Britney can't sing herself, but that's not the point of being a judge, the point is having an ear that can spot flaws in a voice, not to get up there and sing it for themselves

It’s weird and interesting how her belts are so resonant, well supported, with great placement and with unbelievable projection, which is what every singer work their entire lives trying to achieve, but her simple vocal things as pitch and phrasing are not so good... A very particular case. I used to love her, always wished she had made till the top5 at least...

I thought she did an amazing job and really poured her emotions into this song and I understood what Simon was saying when he mentioned it could of been better as an "unplugged" performance but through all the hard critiquing every week and constantly having to fight over and over to stay in the competition I think really brought out the "sing your heart out" voice, rather than play it safer because she revealed a lot of intensity that she had building inside and revealing her strength and I'm gonna fight to the very end and give it all I got...first watching CeCe I thought she was a very cocky girl rather than confident and humbling but I think the show has unfortunately had a big role in almost trying to portray that about her. When listening to her talk she really is a sweet girl and caring but she really believes in herself and even though at times she uses it as a cover she also knows and feels a fierceness inside her that she loves to show and she really has such a confidence in herself going big with all of her performances because that's who she is, and unfortunately when you have a girl who is already so self assured people tend to wanna perceive that as arrogance but look at all these other great performers of our time, they do amazing out there shows, like lady gaga and kesha and even Britney walking around with a snake and getting hated on when she went from innocent pop star to a more personified sexual artist, people wanna hate on greatness or people who go against the grain than magically love them..the thing is with CeCe it's because of that self assurance already at such a young age and knowing what she wants rather than just conforming that gets her probably hated on a lot by her peers even probably before this show , plus let's face it she very beautiful something people tend to attack at times when they feel someone isn't acting more humbling, so she most likely has developed this overly strong persona to protect herself, especially when everyone seems against you, she has two options break down and cry and seem weak than give in to the harsh opinions or keep her head high and pretend to or not let it all get to her, I'm sure it bothers her what people say but to keep moving forward keeping the image of who she wants to be is amazing because many young girls self esteem isn't as stead fast! I really love her! Think about it, a majority of x-factor, American idol etc are these shows that really love an under dog story and really eat up these emotional touching stories which is beautiful to see but let's face it a lot of winners and super loved contestants are these shocking unexpected performances, or super emotional background stories and these super vulnerable/ humbled people that makes it easy to love which also makes people just wanna vote for them, that this show is their really only hope and CeCe doesn't draw that attention to the show the same way and people think she could do fine just on her own and I believe the judges see that and even though she may of not been the best to win regardless of how she acted I believed the judges really played a role in antagonizing and swaying the peoples opinion and votes for her because a lot of times they were overly critical and constantly were attacking her stage presence and "attitude" and performances..I'm really glad Demi saw what was in her and her visionary creations and ideas! That's what did end up bringing her a strong support group..I say go CeCe Frey no matter what and if anything wether you were loved or hated and if people liked your personality or not you did show one valuable lesson and that's be true to yourself and don't change who you are by what other people say, if you truly love yourself and have a strong core in your own belief system compared to what society thinks is acceptable than kudos to you because that's the true gift of inner happiness many people wish they could embrace! Much love!!

I'm also not usually a nasty person but what bothers me with Britney is she's a huge known pop star for her break out appearance and revolutionary change for the business but I never once believed her voice had much impact for that, I've never once heard Britney sing and said WOW, powerful voice or great range. It's very safe, easy, and always auto tuned. I've never heard her do a rendition of a Whitney or Mariah or Christina song or bust out the national anthem even and it's because I don't think she can, so if anything I thought Britney would of been more supportive of this girls presence on stage than sorta hating on her so much lol
@bitrate2able
@bitrate2able 10 жыл бұрын
Britney's singing career was a consequence of a lot of outside factors and events that happened to come together at perfect timing during the 90's, when vocals were not as important. The average listener didn't know what auto tune was back then, so there was no one around to call BS when they heard a mediocre signer. Our ears have now become hypersensitive to overproduction on vocal tracks, and we are much better at picking up on weak vocals that were assisted through production magic and auto tune. For one, keep in mind that she has been in this industry since she was eight, and was a member of the Mickey Mouse Club. Former Mouseketeer's are basically regarded as the Vietnam Veterans of the entertainment industry and they had access to some of the best songwriters, producers, and talent agents in the business. For a child, she had a very strong voice (check out her performance on Star Search). Of course, as she got older, her voice did not really develop into the powerhouse type voice that the X Factor is looking for today, but she was still extremely marketable because of her appearance. Second, before Britney, Madonna was the only major female pop star of the era, and as Madonna was aging and losing her sex appeal, there was room made for a new female pop diva. Finally, her romance with Justin Timberlake helped both of their careers tremendously because it made them interesting to the public. This was during MTV's heyday, when pretty much whatever they showed on MTV was guaranteed to go multi-platinum because the teenage fan base was so vast back then and there were no MTV reality shows take time away from brainwashing teens into buying pop music. Put all these factors together and you'll understand how Britney got where she is today even though her vocals are mediocre at best.
@bitrate2able
@bitrate2able 10 жыл бұрын
In case you were wondering: Christina Aguilera, Britney, Justin Timberlake, JC Chassez, Ryan Gosling, and Kerri Russel were all members of the Mickey Mouse Club. This gave them access to the strongest industry representation and management available to a child star in the 90's and put their careers on track for where they are today.
@Hsmith50
@Hsmith50 10 жыл бұрын
No I understand the reasoning behind Britney Spears success and why it created such a huge impact and influence and how everything came together, I mean back than so many teenage girls wanted to either be like her or at least looked up to her and yeah I saw Britney in the Mickey Mouse club and listened to her from the earlier days meaning pre "hit me baby one more time" era and thought she was great as a child singer but artist like Christina and Justin etc that were apart of that whole group and emerged as well I felt grew so much stronger and better in their careers vocally along with the many other reasons where even though Britney was a huge pop star a lot of media attention and fame wasn't so much focused on how well she sang but what she sang and the new changes and creativity and look for "pop star" ask the type of performances she did and of course the attention on her private life, I remember her on a Diane interview where not just her but also the media brought so much attention negatively because she didn't wait till marriage to have sex or was seen at a club even at 21 and received grief drinking amaretto sours, it's crazy to see the difference in 10-15 years. Now the media and society could careless and focus on if a legal aged pop star is a virgin or has a few drinks and I'm talking about her pre break down era as well, this was happening when she dated JT and deemed an unfit role model. Today's youth would give the media a heart attack. But back to my statement originally I still remember listening to Britney's and Christina first albums thinking Christina was much better vocally and your statement about why there wasn't so much critique on her in regards to being auto-tuned or on her voice alone is because even if people didn't know what auto tune was it was still evident her vocals weren't superior. There were singers like Mariah and Whitney and Celine dion etc that proved what was really singing, so even if auto tune is a huge factor now I don't think it's made us "hyper sensitive" to vocal differences, it may just fool us to make someone who can't sing sound better. Also there wasn't many outlets or features like KZbin today for actual public opinions and comments and fans to critique. Much judgement and persuasion of talent was portrayed through media like magazines,TV shows, TRL. Simply KZbin her and listen to her singing a cappella just freestyle it's um not so great at least in the notion that she will never invited to sing the national anthem which I've yet to find. And we all know she would have probably been slammed back in late 90s and early 2000s by KZbin comments if there was that option back than even with all the fame she had just like any famous singer today, people will have their opinions and will pick everything apart.

@bitrate2able
@bitrate2able 10 жыл бұрын
maahmatchelle What you are saying is true...but Britney paid her dues. She sacrificed her childhood and adolescence in order to get where she is today. She has more money than god but even with all of the money and power she has, she will never be able to enjoy the luxuries that many of us take for granted. Because of her celebrity status, her every move is being constantly scrutinized by the public. She cannot go to the mall for some leisurely shopping, take a stroll on the beach for some relaxation, or even make friends because everyone she comes into contact with has the potential to turn on her and leak stories about her private life to the media. Give the girl a break.

Okay.. I agree with Demi, this was one of her best vocal performances. Britney is honestly no talented (not to start an argument) that's just my opinion. She's used so much auto tune to the point where she isn't even good. Demi is such an amazing singer, she can belt out any note and make it sound amazing. I think that CeCe did a wonderful job. She took Demi's advice about not being cocky. And she isn't cocky. I also noticed that she put more emotion.

So pitchy and the hands down the worst attitude. She’s never consistent. I never liked the person she was or vocal ability.
