I show in this video one way to approach artisan pipings to be used in two common upholstery trims 'flat felled seams and French seams'.
The threads on top are the final touch to add an artisan look. I have used the same thread colors I used to do a motorcycle seat I showed in a previous video. Thread colors could be combined in a variety of forms according to the general leather color we are using for.
I hope you find some inspiration in this video to perform your own upholstery projects!
Best wishes,
Cesar

I've never sewed a day in my life, but I'm about to start a full Leather Car seat covers re-upholstery project on my older Ford Bronco.. and having watched as many of your videos as I can over the past little while, I cannot thank you enough for teaching some of your secrets and showing how these projects can be done with time, patience, care and attention. You're a master and I think you again for sharing your wisdom. (Now please wish me luck on my project.. haha)

Beautiful work. Did you loosen the bobbin tension so the red thread pulled up through the seam? Your pedal control in order to sew slow is impressive. Do you have a smaller pulley on your clutch motor? No way I can sew that slow with a clutch motor. You are a true craftsman and artist!!! I love your videos!
@Cechaflo
@Cechaflo 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the thin thread in the bobbin is slightly loose. The thick beige thread remains on top. The 120 needle also helps because it does not make too wide holes in leather. I have done two tricks to slow down the speed of the machine: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2HafKKXipqonc0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3XMqpmcmr2fm8k The best option is the use of a servo motor. I would get mine at any moment.

@@Cechaflo thanks for the video! I replaced my Consew CSM 1000 servo motor pulley with a 45 mm pulley and it sews very slow. However I’m sewing Sunbrella marine canvas on a 90 year old Singer 95-40. A Pfaff 1245, a Juki 1542 or a consew 206rb just isn’t in my budget. I’m looking for a Singer 111w155 or 156 to fix up and use. Your videos are the best and you’re craftsmanship is outstanding. If you were to sell courses on boat canvas, I’d sign up in a New York minute. Thank you Sir!!

Was there a reason the top tension on your seeing machine was so high as to pull the red bobbin through?
@Cechaflo
@Cechaflo 3 жыл бұрын
The reason is to pull the bobbin red thread upwards to get the visible 'red points'.

Should get a auto trimmer friend. catch up with the world. Not only auto lift and trims but does so much more. It will make a better and faster job. I've been sewing on machines for upholstery/canvas and owned a Juki 1510n-7 for 16 yrs now and will never never go back. Owned many machines over the 55 yrs of sewing.

The presser foot of the video is for a Durkopp&Adler 767-FA-373 The distance from the center sewing line to the row of stitches is 5 mm. There are left or right side guides. The one for this machine is left side guide. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnK3ZqR6n9yAqbs www.amazon.com/CKPSMS-Brand-GR-1245-Spring-Side- On internet (Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress, etc.) you can fin this foot for sale. www.amazon.com/Right-Spring-Guide-Presser-Durkopp/dp/B07Z7Q1H5C?th=1 On this other video I show another presser foot for the Pfaff 1245-706- The guide is right. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWfEo3ivncuBm6c www.amazon.com/CKPSMS-Brand-GR-1245-Spring-Side-3MM/dp/B07QJ1R2R9?th=1 You personally have to look for the appropriate link

Unbelievable. Can I ask a question? I'm not entirely satisfied with what I'm using to mark on suede. Everythjing seems to leave residues behind and yoiu know how delicate and finnicky suede is when you so much as stare it the wrong way. What does a really top notch craftsman like you use? (For marking and for cleaning agent)
@Cechaflo
@Cechaflo 2 жыл бұрын
TBH, I have not done much work with suedes. I like to mark suede with waxed pencils. I like to do a fine line to make the cleaning off easier. I use a liquid called 'washer' here in Mexico. I am not 100% sure but it smells like 'benzine', a cleaning liquid used to clean watches and laundry places to clean stains on clothes. By being aware, suede materials are very delicate then I only trace marks as guides to cut with scissors or a sharpened x-acto. I hope it helps.

The 'Leather Silver Marking Pen' can be easily erased with "white gasoline" (mineral spirits/white spirits). Shoemakers use it a lot here in Mexico. I do not know the composition but its odor is like benzine. I did a demonstration in this other video. min 10:00 kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4u9pmekd5WegJo

Tal como el título lo dice, esto es un trabajo artesanal, el cual creo que solamente se logra con años de práctica y dedicación. Una pregunta, cuál es el # de Walking foot que está usando para french stitch?
