9:10…instead of pinching the greases together at that point, you can devide them again by pushing to the front. And maybe again, cutting off will not be necessary. Note, the smaller the overlaying part is, the smaller the greases. If you learn to cut short, but long enough, it will be easier. The shown example is perfectly fine for what it is. But sometimes you need more accurate overleys without cuts when they will be seen. Nice work on the tip later.!

Cesar, as always, great work and a great teacher! I'm not really set up with a small hobby area to put these lessons to good use, but I still love watching you work and picking up things for later upholstery projects around the house. Thank you very much! /Dave

Thankyou for this video, after years in this workspace, transitioning to tufted fabrication is no joke. You have subtleties in your hand movements that I fully comprehend and appreciate. This goes beyond math, and into gestural movements. Great work

Most of these videos are educational and are not rules to follow. Perhaps an exaggerated explanation precisely to pick up what is convenient. In other words these are not for professionals.

What's the name of your sewing machine and where can I get one from. Also what size form that was and wood and etc. Tell me everything.
@CechafloКүн бұрын
The sewing machine is a Pfaff 1245-706/47 The patterns are sewn down over a shoe's insole cardboard. This cardboard can be folded under the sewing machine neck in order to handle it for the sewing process. The presser foot is an adaptation to make it run in the low channels easier. Just for the sample I used a thick MDF cardboard as base. The application would be over car door panels over their own cardboard or plastic panel. The white foam is called Latex Eva foam. It has some resilience. It means resistance to keep its shape.

What type of needle for a home machine to do cars and trucks seats and the thread .or I need to buy a good industrial machine .
@Cechaflo2 күн бұрын
You could do upholstery with a regular home machine but with some limitations. It is advisable the use of an industrial, heavy duty, sewing machine, alternating presser feet, double or triple transport. It could be a new one or a used one in good condition. Equipped with a servo motor to make the sewing and handle easier. Fortunately, there is good information on the internet: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2KbdGiYfMyNfbc theluckyneedle.com/ kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4LFknmEi7CEfKs kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYGWgqacdq2iZ9k I hope this information helps.

Thanks for sharing that technique Cesar, I have run into that problem before of too much bulk on a seam which can also cause the machine to drop a stitch so will be trying this next time. Im not an uholsterer by trade but have always had a go at auto upholstery over the years with mixed results and it wasnt until I bought one of your courses a few years ago that I discovered where I was going wrong especially with patterning, so I highly recomend your courses to anyone wanting to learn.... I wish I had found you sooner. Cheers Greg

This tip really helps when sewing bulky junctions. It is a good way to get flat edges, therefore double stitches or oversewings on top will be nice and clean.

What would you say is the hardest upholstery project you have done? I want a difficult challenge
@Cechaflo3 күн бұрын
Hello Adrian, Congratulations for your nice upholstery channel! IMHO any upholstery project is a challenge until we decipher the way it should be done. In the latest seventies I wanted to replicate those heat embossing door panels (VW and other vehicles) and motorcycle seats. It took me 3 years of research and training to achieve it. I had to study hydraulic mechanics myself to build my own big press including the embossing plates. Lately, regarding seat covers I took on a challenge to replicate a design of an office chair for my shop. kzbin.info/www/bejne/laqmdaasfaZ6jtk

@@Cechaflo thank you! And I see what you mean. Although I don’t think I could ever build my own press, that’s crazy impressive. Honestly putting my work on KZbin is a great way to hold myself accountable cause people will always point out my flaws. All in the name of improving my end product!

A Good upholstery job is when all the folds face down, so that dust does not collect inside the fold over time. Good job otherwise. You are an excellent teacher.

Maestro...My pfaff is identical to yours. I'm adjusting tension to start a new project. I'm using 138 polyester thread which is my go-to. Needle is 140. No matter how tight i set the top thread tension the bobbin thread is pulling it thru to the bottom. I have the bobbin tension set so low that I'm afraid the screw might fall out. Top thread tension plates are clean. Do you have any suggestion regarding what could have happened to create this problem??
@Cechaflo6 күн бұрын
Regularly this issue occurs when the rotary hook is too slow. You would need to move the rotary hook a little forward clockwise in order to catch the needle thread loop faster. Hopefully this video is useful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/poKqgZefjpugb7c
@@Cechaflo I am impressed. That video isn't even new and you still responded personally. thank you. Also, thank you for the information and the glue video. I have now searched for the VL-2000 glue and can not find it anywhere. Would Barge contact adhesive be the same? What about DAP Landau adhesive?
@Cechaflo7 күн бұрын
@@DoktorHalloween The VL-2000 is a local trademark here in Mexico. I assume you are located in the USA- www.amazon.com/Dap-Weldwood-Contact-Adhesive-Solvent/dp/B004IH3HAQ It is very fluid mostly used as sprayable glue. It can also be used as brushable glue. www.amazon.com/Petronios-Master-All-Purpose-Cement-each/dp/B076DJQN5R It is a brushable glue. It is dense similar to VL-2000.
