Cedar Point just has a very special spot in my heart. It is a lot more to me than just an amusement park. I've always wanted to visit it, which seemed a rather distant reality for me since I was born and raised in Brazil. I spent years and years of my life watching videos on KZbin and dreaming of the day when I'd finally have the chance to be there myself. After a lot of planning and saving I finally had the chance to do so in 2022. I met the love of my life during my visit to Sandusky, who happens to have worked at Cedar Point for over a decade. We got married last year and I now live in just across the lake from the park and can not only call Cedar Point my home park but also see it from my balcony. My life changed completely because of my first ever visit to CP! Sometimes it just feels unreal to me that I get to visit the park pretty much daily, even if just to go grab some food and walk around with my partner. Cedar Point is so special to me!

That's awesome to hear brother for real. I do the same I have a good pass and will go to Kings Island which is my home park and I'll walk around get some food and ride just a coaster or 2 that has a short line. It's fun to just walk around and listen to the sounds sometimes and just have a relaxing day. I'm going to Cedar point for the first time this coming Monday and Tuesday and I can not be any more excited about it. 2 more days and I'll be in the park riding steel vengeance, Maverick and more.

I was fortunate enough to live only 35 minutes away from Cedar Point when I was growing up and have visited the park probably 100 times over the years, even being a season pass holder for quite a few years when I was in my late teens and early 20's. I also got to experience the height of the coaster wars and ride coasters such as Millennium, Top Thrill, and Maverick the years that they came out. The best advice I received, which I followed, was to leave the park at dinnertime for a couple of hours, and use the grill to make dinner. My wife and I visited Cedar Point for our very first time last year on our honeymoon! It was right after Memorial Day weekend. We got a 3 day pass/Hotel Breakers bundle. It came out to like $1300 and some change after tax. But worth it since it was our honeymoon. The park itself really is an enthusiasts dream. It has everything you could want, and depending on what time of the year you go the lines aren't too crazy. We've been to many parks in the short year that we've been married, Cedar Point is just magical to us. Fingers crossed TT2 works out its kinks and is up and running sometime in the near future!

Now it's "boring" to my kids because every other coaster is faster, taller, or has inversions etc. I'd love CP to revamp it somehow. Maybe add a tilt?? IDK. @@xmanzy7293 I have never even thought about how rough a ride was, including Meanstreak which apparently was one of the roughest ever. I never knew of this at the time, but since then have seen people say how it was brutally rough, to the point that they had to redesign the ride, and I just don't have any memory of that at all. I may sound old here but I think it may be generational. There was a time when pretty much every coaster was rough and the designers didn't even think about how smooth the ride would be, so when every one is like that, you either accepted it as part of the deal, or you didn't ride.

I grew up living 2 hours from Cedar Point and my parents would pull me and my siblings out of school on a random weekday in May to go to Cedar Point every year until we graduated high school. Growing up in the 90s and getting to ride stuff like Raptor, Mantis, Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster on their opening years when they were brand new was truly magical. I'm in my 30s now and have only recently started visiting other regional parks throughout the US and it's made me appreciate the variety of coaster types that Cedar Point has. The only park I've been to that has the variety they do is Six Flags Magic Mountain.

My 1st trip was June 28, 2017. I had been wanting to go since the early 2000's. We stayed at a hotel near CLE Airport and caught an Uber from there to the park 1st thing the next morning. Got there when gates opened and stayed til near closing. HAD A BLAST! We requested an Uber back, but didn't know at the time that it was still NEW to the Sandusky area, so it was possible we weren't gonna get a ride back. Luckily we did after a 20min wait. Turns out, the driver said he was only the 2ND driver who signed up at the time, so were lucky to get him. Definitely a memorable trip. ❤

@JermsState Retracking Grizzly with GG track and retheming Avalanche has definitely helped. I expect Backot Stunt will be getting a safari-oriented retheme soon - all of the former Italian Job coasters are long overdue for it. One possible wild card: if Six Flags decides to sell off Six Flags America and relocate their Gotham City / DC coasters to other parks, then KD might get Superman with a fresh coat of paint, new theme, and tunnels. It would actually fit in well tucked behind Twisted Timbers, providing a good balance to Project 305.

So a few years ago I thought let’s do this. Got everything booked, flights from the UK, hotel in Sandusky, bought a season pass, everything. Was set to be there for at least 3 days but had some flexibility to do more. That was 2020…. So yeah, everything went bye bye. It was insanely demoralising and I’ve never managed to get everything sorted to re-plan a trip. Maybe one day.

Me and my family stayed at the Breakers back in 2021. That hotel has that classic "Overlook" feel, white walls, red carpet, big statues in the lobby. If you stay in Sandusky, I wholly recommend the hotel for the premium experience and the beach behind it. But if it's out of your price range, Sandusky Hotel is cheaper, has great rooms, and is very much themed to enthusiasts with cool pictures of the rides in the rooms and on the elevator. I'll have to try a cabin my next trip just for something new.

Thank you for your channel. Helped us plan several recent family vacations over the last few years to parks we would have never known about. Best wishes in all your travels this summer. Cedar Point was not originally my home park, Geauga Lake was (sad what happened there.) A couple things... 1. Those two kids areas in the front of the park were always there, they are dated, but I'm not sure all those kids rides over by Windseeker came from Geauga Lake. 2. The other kids area was originally on Gemini midway, then Camp Snoopy opened up. 3. I think Mine Ride could be the next one out, so they can tie into that area you mentioned where nothing has worked, I think it would be a family style coaster 4. Mantis was rough and uncomfortable. You did not miss anything there. 5. When Magnum opened in 1989, it was a 3 hour wait, the queue lines wrapped behind the restrooms and almost down by Corkscrew 6. Anyone coming for the first time should really plan for two days, at least, in order to get the full experience 7. Do you think some of their "arrogance" has to do with the fact that they only have about 5 months to make their revenue for the year, I kind of think that is a part of it, they get May through hopefully October. 8. Restrooms need upgraded. Thanks for the channel, again, best wishes on your summer travels. Keep up the great work!

I went to Cedar Point last week for the first time in over a decade. The rides are still as incredible as I remember them to be when I last went as a high schooler. However, I felt like the lines were much longer. I went on a Monday (given it was the week of the 4th of July) but I was not expecting all the main rides to 1-2 hour lines, all day, on a Monday. I had a blast but was bummed I missed the Maverick simply because there wasn't enough time to hit all the main coasters when you're waiting 90+ minutes 5 or 6 different times. I have no issue waiting that long for the Millennium Force, Steel Vengeance, etc. but to wait 60+ mins for the mid tier coasters was a bummer and was not expected. I frequented the park in the late 2000s and early 2010s and don't recall ever waiting more than 45 mins for anything other than millennium force and dragster.

My wife and I are currently at Cedar Point for the first time. We've been here 2 days and have one more day here, then 2 days at Kings Island for our first trip there. We're from Central VA, so BGW and KD are our home parks. CP is definitely a better coaster park than both BGW and KD, but my wife and I both agreed that we like BGW as a whole more than CP

Went for the first time during coaster mania weekend I agree with all your points. I already want to go back even more than a trip to Disney.

I'm planning on fulfilling a wish I've had since I was 14 and visiting next year. It will be my first visit to the US as well so going via NY.

I love that you haven't been to the waterpark either. I live about an hour from the park but just can't bring myself to go to the waterpark. I'd just spend the whole time thinking about the roller coasters.

Thank you so much! I've been planning for a few years now (from Germany) and your advice is priceless. That'll help a lot with the planning ;-)

Great video man! I remember watching your old review of the park and it built anticipation! My first visit was in 2018 and I usually go every year (except 2020, 2021, & 2022) and often a few times per year! Canada's Wonderland is my home park but I go here so much that I consider it to be my 2nd home park! Awesome review!

I’m a pass holder living in Detroit and i grew up visiting this park. My magnum opinion is that if you get stapled, you are gonna have a damn awful time. If you don’t, one of the best rides in the park for sure. Also you can rep it so much. Most of my visits this year it’s been walk on-15 mins all day

I love Magnum. I rode it the year it opened and it was the first roller coaster I ever rode. It blows my mind to go there now see how short the wait it is for it. It’s steel one of my favorite roller coasters there.

I got to visit Cedar Point as part of my graduation trip! Don’t know when I’ll be able to go back (Texan here), but I had a blast! TT2 may not have been open, but with so many awesome rides in one park it’s hard to walk out dissatisfied.

Truly love when you guys re-review parks! I really hope you do it with your Europe trip!

We got to go to Cedar Point last year and stayed on site at light house point however we camped in a trailer. The spots were very nice. Additionally the comience of having your own trailer very close to the Magnum gate was great. Personally I loved Steel Vengeance and Millenium Force. Probably would’ve like Maverick more if I didn’t wait 3.5 hours having two breakdowns and somebody puking when we got up to the ride. But yeah wish I could be back and I know I will in the future!

Spectacular video on the BEST park.... Cedar Point deserves the cockiness. It is simply the best park, but again great. Great video on cedar point, except for the last couple of minutes

I was at Cedar Point in August and and we avoided Magnum, Corkscrew and the other older rides like Gemini etc. because we didn't want to get a headache right away. Fast Lane is almost priceless. 19:45 that's a great idea. Unfortunately Top Thrill 2 was closed and I won't be able to get to Cedar Point anytime soon because I'm from Europe.

My pilgrimage to cedar point is happening this week and I can’t explain how excited I am. It’s a shame that top thrill 2 will be closed but still exciting.

I visited in July ‘22, but due to some time restrictions, bad weather and traffic I only ended up having about 5 hours to spend my day there. I did get a fast pass, so that helped, but in the end I only had the chance to ride Gatekeeper, Raptor, Valravn, Millennium Force, Rougarou, Maverick and Steel Vengeance. The only coaster I really missed out on is Magnum. I mean, I would have loved to experience Blue Streak or Gemini, but I came for the big ones and those I did. Dragster was obviously SBNO at that time, so I knew beforehand that I wouldn’t get to do it. Anyway, it’s an incredible park and I’ve only been able to see half of it! Doesn’t really matter though, because I kinda came for SteVe and to this day it’s still my #1, so it was worth it. I’d love to come back one day and do the rides I missed, but that’ll set me back about €6000 soooo probably not. Once in a lifetime park for me, I think. Never say never. All in all I’ve made some memories for life there.

This video was really well done! Thank you for your hard work! I would like to see a Magic Mountain video with this comprehensive treatment.

Magic Mountain is definitely due up for a new review. The last time I did one for it I believe was in 2016. That was pre Wonder Woman and West Coast Racers. Since they are getting a new coaster next year I will probably wait till that one opens for doing a video on it.

I just visited and it is actually possible to get here without a car. I would definitely recommend the Amtrak from Cleveland and once you’re in Sandusky if you’re staying at a hotel off property, use the Sandusky taxi service.

I have been to Cedar Point twice and I would definitely recommend staying at the cheaper hotel cedar point shores. It’s average hotel but it does still help you out when you are booking your vacation including the early access. I have ate at the restaurant Melt a couple times and it’s a good place to sit down and rest and staff was very helpful especially since someone had Dramamine which worked for me. I would also recommend getting a locker at the front entrance to the park so you are not bouncing from locker to locker location. Only draw back is it’s a long walk back to the front. Bring your walking shoes.

I was born in Ohio, so I was lucky to have such parks as Kings Island, Geauga Lake, Idora Park, not to mention the neighboring state of PA and its great parks....but the mecca even as a child was Cedar Point. I have such great memories of my huge family of 10 staying at The Breakers and hanging out on the shore making sand castles. As a kid, The Blue Streak terrified me and was THE biggest coaster at the time. The Earthquake dark ride was another favorite. Little by little, the park transformed, adding more and more coasters. When Corkscrew debuted, we lost our minds! Now, it's obviously world class with their newer coasters putting the old ones to shame. My last visit, I didn't even bother with Corkscrew, knowing how janky and uncomfortable it felt. I'm lucky to have the parks nearby that I do now in my home in Los Angeles, but nothing brings me more joy than how Cedar Point feels.

Home park and season pass holder - I've logged thousands of miles traveling to theme parks with 4 small kids, and Cedar Point is top tier for parents going with kids. Their parent swap pass is by far the best, and areas like their family care centers are a game changer. Without those kinds of things, there's no way I would go as much as I do...they make it easy for parents to experience high thrill attractions, even while giving a great experience to their kids at the same time. That being said, the biggest gap I have seen is rides for the 42" height requirement. Wild Mouse was the perfect addition for that age group - rides like Iron Dragon, Blue Streak, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride are all 48" height requirement, while similar rides are 42" at other parks. So the step between kiddie coasters and the big ones is missing the mark there. In the same vein, Kiddie Kingdom is almost the only area with rides for kids below 36" - so that is actually a really important area of the park for families, more so than Planet Snoopy if you have to pick one. Not saying they couldn't adjust or consolidate both areas somehow, but they definitely need to keep as many rides as possible for kids below 36" or it's a huge obstacle for parents who are considering whether a high thrill park like Cedar Point is also kid friendly. And those are the customers who pay the bills after all (which my bank account reminds me every year).
