Cedar Shingle Roof For A Wellhouse

A cedar shingle roof can add a lot of rustic charm to an outbuilding, or in this case to a well house. This roof structure and stone walls were added around a modern well head to cover it up and look more attractive. After many years in the weather, the shingles needed replacement. Watch as I install new shingles and give some tip and tricks along the way to make the job go easy and to last.

I appreciate this video so much-this is perfect for small projects like mine so very helpful to me. Thank you! We built a rather large open wood bird feeder almost as wide as my table (will need two 4x4 posts to hold it up) that can easily hold a 15 pound bag of feed and we wanted a rustic wood roof on it with some copper somewhere and little weather vane on top. We might have to cut down singles to scale, but this explains perfectly how to install and ridge cap them. Thanks again :)

Thanks for this video. This is just what I'm looking for! Can you possibly provide a link to the utility grade shingle you used? I've found some at Lowe's but I think they're too flimsy. I need something a little better In think. Any guidance is appreciated 😊

hmm looks like you used a corner piece for the ridge cap, but hard to tell. I wish you went into detail more there. im trying to cap my cedar arbor I made and very few videos on how to do it

Don't pull back at the end!! I wanted to see that cap at the top a lot closer.....
