I went to Vegas for the first time a couple months ago and didn’t know much about gambling, but gradually picked up the very basics. It was like $15 bets on the strip of Vegas, was told by many Uber drivers to go to Fremont street (downtown Vegas) and I found a casino with $5 tables which I absolutely loved. I did better at the $5 tables than $10-$15 tables. Now I’m here watching videos on KZbin and will probably do a lot better @ playing the next time I go back to Vegas!

don‘t be fooled. You won‘t ever do better at these tables. The games are rigged. They are designed to favor the house at any time. You might have the sensation of winning a couple of times, but over time you are guaranteed to lose money in a casino. That is unles you count cards… if you actually manage to do that perfectly, you are guaranteed to win money at Blackjack tables over a long period of time.

There was a series of small books sold in Vegas called "Playing to Win" on the major games. This progression is exactly what the author suggested. Buy in is 40 times the table minimum. Every time you lose you go back to the base bet of two units. If you lose four in a row, walk away. If you lose or win half of your buy in, walk away. I've been playing this way for years. Got the cheat card memorized.

please don‘t be misguided. You cannot, and I repeat… you CANNOT win against the house over time playing normally or even when using basic strategy. Even when you use basic strategy perfectly you are still at a disadvantage of 0.5%, which means you are guaranteed to lose money the longer you play. You can only win at Blackjack if you count cards and you have to be pretty good at it. If you just play for the fun, cool, but don‘t be fooled to think that you have a chance of winning money

Like every industry l, it’s got its pros and cons, but overall I enjoy it and plan on staying in the industry. I get paid to play games all day, sure you deal with some cranky players, but overall, it’s a job that has treated me well. Hopefully, if you do decide to go into the industry, work at a casino that’s KYO, that means Keep Your Own (Tokes (tip)) because it can be pretty lucrative. This is a very instructive video. The funny thing about the last shoe (which went really well), is that the progressive system was in sync with the count. This goes to show from the juicy hands starting from 31:10. The dealer busted a lot from that point on, and it has to do a lot with the left of the pack being rich with high cards. Its instructive for cardcounters because you can use this progression as camouflage. Of course, the problem occurs at 34:35 when you go back to normal and the count is still high ;) On another note, could you perhaps enlighten us a little bit about penetration in an upcoming video? When you determine where to place the cutcard (as a dealer), what are your reasons? Do you give more cards for the players if they tip you, or is the penetration set by a notch? I guess it depends on which casino you work at, but would still appreciate your thoughts about this :)

Basic Strategy is the best play you can make knowing only the dealers up card. Basic Strategy and flat betting don't work as a system but many people play that way cause it's cheaper to play money wise but you win 3 days out of 10 and lose 5 days out of ten and two days will be close to ever + or - a bit long term average. What people need to understand is your bets must change in order to beat the house at blackjack.

I assume you mean 16:28?? It's A-2-4 against J. It's a soft 17, so you hit. (Assuming you don't have a pair) If there are any aces that can be an "11" without going bust, you look in the soft table, otherwise you look in the hard table. It doesn't matter how many cards you have already hit, as it doesn't change the odds, or what decision you should make. For example: These hands are the same: A-6, A-2-4, A-3-A-2 These hands are the same: 10-6, 5-5-6, 10-5-A

I use a betting strategy that is a 10x-6x strategy. Basically in order for me to place a bet I have to have 10x the amount in my bank roll than I am betting. I keep this bet the same until I go up to the next 100 and then I raise my bet to be whatever I have divided by 10. So if I start with 200 in my bank, the most I can bet is 20 (unless its a double down). If I win and now have 300 in my bank I raise to 30. If I am losing though, I will keep my bet the same until I have 6x the amount of my bet in my hand. So keeping math easy, if I start with 200 in my bank, I bet 20. If I go up to 300 in my bank I raise to 30. If I go down to below 160 in my bank roll, or 3 hands, I will reduce my bet to 10. The higher amount in your bank roll you have less wiggle room before you have to reduce your bet, so if you start with 100 and bet 10 you can play 4 hands before you have to reduce your bet. 200 you can play 3 hands. 300+ = 2 hands. This strategy allows you to exponentially increase your winnings while controlling your losses and allowing you to play more hands!

To say that counting cards for anyone other than a professional is a better strat is silly at best. As any card counter will tel you, counting cards does not mean you will always win. If you count cards and wait your turn to bet in todays world they will kick you out before you get to a high count. Doesn’t mean you can’t make money, but unless your bank roll is massive and can take the hits (which 99.9% of the players aren’t) this strat is actually a real beneficial way to play.

Food for thought. On tables with a $25 minimum bet amount and use less amount of cards like 4, 5, maybe 6 decks in a shoe( the device that holds all of the cards that the dealer shuffles and loads the cards into). Fewer cards and odds tilt a bit towards helping the card gaming customer.

Can someone explain to me why, at 12:29, he says "perfect" to drawing a 2 to an 11 double-down? I thought the point of doubling down on 11 was hoping to draw a 10, which gives the player 21. Drawing a 2 gives the player 13, which is hardly a good hand. Yes, in this case, the dealer drew the facecard and therefore busted, so he did wind up wining the hand, so it worked out in the end, but I still wonder about the "perfect" comment.

According to a mathematics professor at MIT, in any given BlackJack session, the cards will favor the house a portion of the game, no systems will change that. The cards will favor the player equally, it is the portion of the cards in the middle that the contest is all about. example; 25% for the Dealer, 25% for the player, the fight is over the remaining 50%.
@jamesjeffares3 жыл бұрын
Interesting, it makes sense to me. However I wouldn't give the dealer the same 25% as the player due to the advantage of going last. If you and the dealer bust, the dealer already has pulled your money off the table.

Playing perfect strategy, house still has a .5% edge. If a player counts cards correctly and follows basic strategy, player has a 5% edge.
@blackjackmaster14322 жыл бұрын
@@reesem6411 Playing perfect strategy the house has more like 1.5% to 3% advantage over the player because the house rules in many places are crappy. where i am in the province of Alberta Canada the rules are the same for the whole province the house advantage is 1.47% This is one of the best set of house rules you will find anywhere. but even here there are bad rules aka dealer hits soft 17 and the no whole card rule common in Europe and Canada. But seldom used in the US. Also anyone who says surrender is a good option is a wrong unless you have more information aka knowing the count. It Also depends on the house rules it has been proven that 16 to a dealers face card is a bad hand we all know that but here are the odds if you stand on 16 to a face card your odds of winning are about 33% the same odds of a dealer breaking any given hand if you hit 16 to a face your odds are about 38.46 to 42% depending on the house rules. 5 cards help you hand out of 13. not as bad as most think. still less then 50% so you do lose money but you lose less. think of it this way if you get 16 to a dealer face 10 times in a day this is what happens if you stand on 16 to a face you will win 3 times out of ten if you hit 16 to a face you will win 4 times out of ten long term and last if you surrender all the time you lose half you total bet at a $5 bet you lose 25$ total. the problem with surrendering is you never win anything. When you hit 16 to a face you do win a few hands so in the end you lose less money then surrendering this has been proven by MIT surrendering a hand is only good when you know the card count is Bad. if all you know is the basic strategy surrender is a sucker move all the time too many moron's never figure this out. do you want to lose or win. your choice... Note this was edited to point out 2 facts about house rules that got left out that change how close to 50/50 the game is, Also yes it can be as close as only a 0.5 percent advantage for the house but only if the rules are very very good for the play.This is not so common.

The cards will NEVER favor the player equally, if you think this then you better re-read the MIT bit your referring too Dr Edward Thorp from MIT who wrote the book called beat the dealer the best selling book in the history of books on blackjack, when this book came out Casinos freaked out however the book proved to be a cash cow for the casino's because most people are too f-ing lazy to read or worse yet to dumb to understand basic math. People who don't know anything should stick to what they do know, Bad advice sucks.. I point out how most people play wrong and people tell me all the time i am wrong but they can't even understand basic stuff hmm i make $20 to 50$ grand a year and the moron's make nothing. It's all about putting the time in and making the right move 100% of the time or as close to it as you can get your bets must change also, money management is half the game. if you flat bet all the time you lose it's a fact. And no it's not easy it's a grind but it better then having an ass for a boss...

It has been awhile since my last casino visit. Do any casinos still allow the player to surrender? It helps when you have a 16 and dealer is showing a high card like a 9 or 10. Rather than busting and losing 100% of the bet, you only lose 50% of your bet.

keep your eye on the cards, if a bunch of big cards went by, then pull, but if a whole bunch of smaller cards went by, then surrender. Does that make since?

2nd hand: A7 vs. 2 is a double not a stand. DO NOT ASSUME that the dealer has a 10 under. 2:50 As far as I know, mathematically speaking, it is the worst thing you can do at the table. It takes the casino advantage from .5% to 10.03%. Only 4/13 cards in the deck are face cards. 6:00 It does not matter what your hand is, insurance is a side bet on whether or not the dealer has a blackjack. "Assume there is a 10 under" and "never take insurance" are a contradiction. Why assume a 10 is under when the up card is a 2 thru a King, but not an Ace?

I'm just a regular ass dude and I go in with a mild sum of $150 with a minimum bet of $25. I typically start off with a bet of $50 and if I win I go to $25 for the next. I play double deck at Charlestown, WV. Nothing crazy, but it's always fun. Last night I went from $150-250 by the time I left, so that felt good seeing how I lost everything the first few times I went in the casino until I started employing a strategy.

So this table doesn't allow surrender, right? I think it's worth mentioning when to surrender. 15 against a 10 and 16 against 9 through A.
@stevelyons52093 жыл бұрын
I pretty much play the same way you guys do but my cutoff is 16 I won’t hit 16. When people at my table see me stay on 16 I tell them let’s say the dealer has an 8 and you have 17 if your always assuming they got a 10 under there then you should hit. If it’s assumed the dealer is gonna bust on 16 then why not me. Maybe cause every time I’ve had 16 and hit I busted and in my mind I have 2 ways to lose the dealer or bust. I’m trying to take away one of those ways to lose by not busting myself. If the dealer beats me then he beats me I don’t like to give him the edge by beating myself by busting. Thoughts?
@1loudan3 жыл бұрын
Steven, that’s a borderline bet. I count cards so if the count is not in my favor, I always hit 16 because there are more low cards left in the shoe. If the count is in my favor, I do not hit 16. The system that they are showing in this video really only works well when you’re counting.
@Bdrussell4 Жыл бұрын
You have a higher chance of losing if you stand on 16 than if you hit on 16. It may not be much higher, but it's technically higher.

When you split your hand, like at 8:55, do you have to double your bet? What if one hand wins and the other loses?
@pat34643 жыл бұрын
Yes when you split a hand you have to put up another bet equal to your first bet. You are essentially playing 2 hands. So if you win one and lose one you basically push because they take your bet from the losing hand and pay out on the winning hand.

@SuperResnick6 ай бұрын
18:53 apparently the rules of the table change the probability. You always double 11s on a ‘dealer must hit soft 17s table’. You hit 11s against a dealer 10 or Ace when the ‘dealer stands on all 17s. Can anyone explain the math or the logic on that?
