These retractable blades would be helpful only if while going back or coming out they were to be brushed and cleaned. This would be really good as fan blades accumulate lots of dust on the edges while they are in operation.

Now the cumulative idea!!! Put Remote control switch and IR sensor so, if someone is in the proximity then it will keep on running. Beyond that proximity if there's no movement ,then the motor should stop automatically after 1 minute or 30 second. Just an Idea I thought would be helpful.

Yes looks great but when the blades detach and fly across the room it's a different story. My friends had these fans, they still have the hole in the wall where the blade hit, but the fans are long gone. If you value your life or your kids life, maybe give these a miss.
