I just realized what that sort of blinking sound reminds me of: a submarine's sonar radar. Makes sense for a battle against a weapon powered by "Coral," others of which are typically named after submarine life like the Sea Spider or the Ice Worm.

With AC6's lock-on aiming, this boss's highly telegraphed glowing attacks, high mobility, and with a giant megastructure looming overhead, and highly clear boss phases, it _felt_ like a Metroid Prime boss too Edit: also the game's central plot hook being a sentient fuel source that can corrupt and control weaponry? Very Metroid Prime

0:12 This bit always gives me chills. That buildup, visual of Ibis recharging itself with the coral and Ayre's panicked "It wont stop until you destroy it's generator!" makes it one of the most intimidating boss phase transitions Fromsoft has ever done.

Only other AC game I've played is AC2, and I'm hearing the little piano part from that theme!!! 😱😱😱 FromSoft at it again with the homage to their old games!! ❤ Is that motif a normal theme throughout the series?
@shirosaki976 ай бұрын
Funny you mention AC2 since the first thing Cel 240 actually reminded me of the final boss in that game, and the IBIS series is kind of similar to the Disorder Units in that game too

@@shirosaki97 I was honestly hoping for some other people to notice more homages to the older games, if there were any. But I don't think I saw many Armored Core heads going too deep into that type of stuff, relating to AC6 content that I was seeing. Especially since I missed out on playing any of those games most of my life. So I recently played a bit of the first 2 games. I haven't made it far into the AC2 campaign due to my need to gitgud. But I played a few hours of the Arena. I did play more of the AC1 campaign tho, and I've really been enjoying it (despite the still very intense difficulty). Fuck these games would've blew my mind as a kid. I really missed out 😭🔥

@@nokne debatable. It has high highs, but it's actually the moment to moment gameplay where I would say it's at it's weakest. I for sure think there is a lot of room to improve. Still they are entirely different
@nokne Жыл бұрын
@@janogabor7697 Sekiro is essentially a rhythm game where the main gameplay loop is just memorising when to parry, after which the game is over. Story is also just not interesting or engaging, and the different endings and how to obtain some of them are way too obscure for anyone to naturally figure out what is needed to achieve them. Also, why bother having stealth mechanics if the main game is just parry battles? Easily From's weakest game.
@janogabor7697 Жыл бұрын
@@nokne I can say many such reductive things about AC 6, but I wont because it's dumb to be that reductive. All of their games are rythm games and I argue Sekiro leaning into that is why I found the combat to have good flow, where my biggest criticism (that they kinda addressed in patches) is that the game can be spammy and my biggest hope is that they move away from that more. Also it feels like you don't know what moment to moment gameplay even is. Stealth was a good fit, having the ability to take a health bar out at the start is reward enough. Criticsm like this just make me think you didn't utilize the full gameplay possibilties and you deflect that onto the game rather than improve.
