Celebrate Eid festival with me in a muslim community in Ghana. Eid is an amazing festival celebrated each year in Ghana. The muslim communities in Ghana go all out on this day to display beautiful coloured clothes and there is a ton of Ghana food to eat cook an share.

All these is happening because Christians are 73% and Muslims 17%. It would have been a headache if Muslims were in the majority, just tale an example of Nigeria where its about 50% each.

The dates are inconsistent because it goes by the crescent moon sighting. Some people do scientific calculations some people go by the actual sighting. The first Eid is actually harder to know when it is. But this Eid that you went to celebrate is always on the 10th day of the Islamic month named Dhull hijjah. So when you know it started it's easy to know just count 10 days. :). Btw it's weird to see you dressed up like a Muslim it you look beautiful none the less .

To answer your question aboute the dates. First the moon has to be sighted and that begins the Eid Day then 24 hours after Eid you have your celebrations. Also Eid day after prayer celebrations begin/ in sha Allah. Thank you.
