This is probably the first "Indigenous people's day" conversation I have heard that wasn't focused on the atrocities of Columbus, but on the profoundness of native American history and culture! This should happen more often in America, not just on one day, but throughout the year!

As a Native American, I agree. There is a place and time to speak of Columbus, but that is history, we need to focus on modern day Native cultures, Native civil-rights and triumphs.

I think a lot of people missed what the profoundness of what Sadhguru said , you can take people to a whole another dimension with a single sound . Like when Sadhguru claps , your whole system reverberates in such a powerful way , it is indescribable, people literally go crazy . A lot of people don’t understand this mainly cause it’s something way beyond their imagination .

Blessings on Indigenous Peoples Day! I was so impressed with this talk when I listened to it on Facebook, I can only repeat my comment: Programs like this bring out the best of social media. Big love for all the positive energy these 3 guys are sharing & the teams who made this possible. In only a few days, Sadhguru's American journey has already produced quality content that could fill a multi-part documentary. Besides, I imagine I'm not the only person who'd love to sit around the campfire with these guys anytime. ❤️🇺🇸🌎😀🇮🇳

I've watched many many many interviews with Sadhguru and this one was remarkably different. The passion, love and authenticity that Taboo brought to the discussion was palpable. I could see that Sadhguru was impressed. I shed tears watching this as the conversation was so beautiful, enlightening, affirming, and validating. I hope Sadhguru and Taboo do collaborate together as I feel it will empower the indigenous people, inspire them to work together for a common cause, and rebuild their culture on a strong and firm foundation. So much love for all three of these remarkable beings. Thank you. 🙏🏻🌎💚🌲🌿

It is interesting to realize that the people Columbus accidentally found are spiritually similar to the ones he meant to find. That had not crossed my mind before. I really hope that Sadhguru has a conversation like this with Lyla June during this trip. She has been doing a lot to bring awareness to the First Nations.

Sadhguru's advice for the Native American Youth, about how bringing the love for the environment, the love for the very soil and earth that we all are made from- into their awareness, experience and everyday life,.. will serve as the key to unlocking the door to preserving, understanding and sharing their history - is beyond beautiful. It's almost beyond logic and understanding, it was so spot on. Always very well spent time... listening to Sadhguru's wisdom. 🙏🙏 Namaskaram 🙏 🙏

One of the acceptable & strategic ways to preserve and promote old cultures is to promote their food and cuisine. Cuisine can be the apex recognition unit for a culture. After that its commercialisation of art & craft. The world eagerly awaits these.

Every culture is distinguished by its difference & is therefore a touchy & protective subject. The only component that one can share is one that appeals to aesthetics and can create commerce. Then it is not judged just appreciated. Fashion, food & art are the ones that can be marketed without pushing beliefs or perceptions.

Perhaps something that could address what Marcus mentioned about feeling invisible, or not believing that most Americans would welcome an opportunity to support Native Americans, give them a voice, and help heal the past - is to begin a national conversation about returning the names of places to their original Native American name, wherever possible. This was done in Ireland as they reclaimed their heritage and language, place names returned to Gaelic, or like in India where Bombay returned to Mumbai, or the island of Ceylon returned to Sri Lanka. In America, this could honor not just sacred sites, by not calling them disrespectful names like Devil's Tower, but begin to bring us together in love and heal the past and be a beginning, a small way, for all Americans to recognize and share in NA culture and language, without co-opting it.

I visited the native american museum in washinhton DC recently and was amazed by the diversity of culture. Thier history is a sad story that should be told to everyone.
