i worked through all three days i usually celebrate at the solstice so i’m gonna make up a mid july celebration. not quite sure what to do yet but i did spend this whole vlog crocheting so i might make myself a summer appropriate crochet shawl, or cardigan, or crop top, to wear during the summer. say some prayers over it and with the stitches. i like doing magical crochet :)

I woke up super early on accident on the summer solstice this year and I was so excited because this one would be my first since starting my practice, like I was up eating breakfast and dancing around my kitchen to my summer solstice playlist and I was so happy and then I FELL ASLEEP AND SLEPT THE ENTIRE DAY. I just woke up like “bruh.” 😂 but there’s always next year :)

All of this heat is attributed to El Nino otherwise known as ENSO (i.e. El Nino Southern Oscillation, a phenomenon that happens in the Pacific Ocean). It causes a shift in the jet streams, thereby effecting the weather globally, and releases carbons into the atmosphere that the oceans have collected over the La Nina years for further disintegration into other molecules by sunlight. So not only does the Western Hemisphere of the world feel hotter weather, because the heat contained within the Pacific Ocean shifts east, but the carbons released from this drives hotter weather as well around the globe. China, Australia, and that part of the world begins receiving less rain becoming hotter and dryer, whereas Peru and Chili, for example, gets drenched with rains and leads to flooding and landslides when they're usually a dryer climate. The southern U.S., such as California, Texas and all the way to Florida, get more rain than usual because the southern jet stream moves further south; though, usually because of the shift in the southern jet stream, hurricanes may form in the Atlantic but are very much unlikely to make landfall in the U.S. but is not always the case. So do be careful because the Atlantic is also currently going through its oscillation too which is why the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico waters are currently burning up (i.e. AMO, Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, and NAO, North Atlantic Oscillation; it's why Europe and the Mediterranean have experienced what they have for this year and last year, and the ENSO shift is only going to further compound it not only there, but here in the States as well). On the other side of the continent, hurricanes and typhoons form closer to the Americas, which leads to them becoming even more potent as they cross the Pacific before making landfall in Australia and surrounding continents, islands, and nations. Up here in the northeastern U.S. we just received our first rains in about two or more weeks. Places like Colorado and the western middle of the U.S. forms a high pressure system which attributes to more heat and usually less rain. The northern jet stream moves further up into Canada causing warmer temperatures across Canada and the polar regions (i.e. it's why Canada has had to deal with forest fires this year), so the northeast also receives less rain, while simultaneously a lot of moisture comes off the Great Lakes and heads east which causes very hot, humid, and muggy conditions in the northeast like you're in a tropical rain forest without much rain. It's all just a natural cycle and rhythm of the earth. Thought I should let you and others know about it if you didn't know already. Because it may even spark some ideas for each of our crafts and to begin moving with these rhythms and tides too.

Had to work during the solstice so I couldn’t do as much during the heat but I ate my solstice charcuterie and did some divination (oracle deck) when I got home. Decorated my altar for the season as well with shells and stones.

My St John's water came out also, surprisingly more clearer than the previous years. I decided to make some changes and harvest during the night when the herbs were already soaked w some dew. Just in case, I still have a little from last year thanks to your brilliant idea of using alcohol *.* I hope Benji is better now 😊 Let's have a fantastic Summer 🌅🏖️🏞️🌄

Loved watching you harvest. The blue dress was marvelous but the next outfit was more flowing! I also love those seemingly quiet moments where you are writing, working on the computer, etc., however I do know it is quiet and peaceful from our perspective but inside ones head, it anything but quiet! And I agree about the store...before I had my service dog, I could get in an out relatively unnoticed. Those days are gone! Great Vlog! Thank you!

Absolutely love this!!! For the Solstice I did a blessing for my whole family and my friends and cleaned my house. Also for St. John’s day I made holy water that will hopefully last me the whole year. It probably won’t last the whole year due to how much it is used but it will be fine lol😅😅😅

I'm primarily norse heathen and honor Loki and Lucifer as my primary patrons. My immediate ancestors were germanic protestant/Appalachian. How would you advise approaching folk magic that leans heavily on using Bible passages as spells and charms when you have a visceral distaste for Christianity?

If Frankie doesn't respond, I'm going to, before I forget: One thing really simple is to put a healing sigil on your skin care bottles. And you can always do a healing/protecting candle spell (or a tea, or a simmer pot) with that specific direction. Just my ideas.

I murdered squash bugs and made a lil' fake fire. It's been so dry here...I was afraid to burn. It's the 5th of July, I'm still murdering squash bugs. It's still so dry.
