I like the fact that you go to really local Malaysian spots-not the usual spots shown by KZbinrs who are in Penang only for the day !! Another idea is to make your video 12 min or longer. Tiagong this helps with the YT algorithm too. And more videos like the trip you made to Cameron Highland. That was very interesting for people who want to plan similar trips. Oh that is very interesting bro. I had people tell me that some of my videos were too long (like my Hatyai trip) and that is why I break down the videos into a few parts of 8-10 mins each. I have noticed that videos which are less than 8 mins get less views and revenue, partly because KZbin can't insert an ad break in videos which are shorter than 8 mins. But anyway I try to make my videos as concise as possible so the viewers aren't too bored. Oh, most of the time I include a link for Google Maps to the places I feature in the Description of the video. :) Thank you so much for your kind words and wishes, I really appreciate the support! Hello! Thanks for watching my content! I just subbed to yours too, very nice car videos. I am no expert but here is some stuff I have learned if you don't mind me sharing with you. Our revenue is based on the number of views X the RPM. Of course number of views will depend on how popular the videos get and the click through rate etc. KZbin will put our videos out there and wait for people to click, so that's why a lot of people advise to have good thumbnails and interesting "hooks" in the first 30 seconds of the video to keep audiences watching. The other part we can sort of improve is RPM of the rate per 1000 views for ads. If your audiences is mostly Malaysian, the ad revenue is not very high, for example, if compared to the US or even Singapore. When I first got monetized, my RPM was almost RM2.00, partly because my audience breakdown was like 40% Malaysian and the rest were from Singapore, US, UK and Australia. Since then it has changed to almost 75% Malaysian. A couple of months ago my RPM dropped to around RM1.35 although my views went up significantly. That's when I learned that the duration of our videos also plays a role: If your video is less than 8 mins long, there will be no mid-video ads, and therefore you lose 1/3 of ad revenue! That's why I try to edit videos to at least above 8 minutes, and now I try to make it between 12-15 mins which I think is the sweetspot for revenue and audience retention. My longer videos (above 20 minutes) have had much less audience retention and thus affects the KZbin algorithm from promoting the video. You can try it and see, for this month only release videos above 12 minutes and see if your RPM goes up? Good luck and I hope this helps!

Actually you only need 1000 subs to be monetized. After that, revenue depends on number of 1k views X RPM. If you have videos which people click all the time, they will continue to generate income. However, the KZbin algorithm sort of stops recommending your videos after a week (talking about food videos like mine) whereas a video about solving maths would be searched for all the time. So you can check the source of your views... a useful video could be viewed over and over for years.

@@pishedbloke a little correction…. I think due to competition, KZbin has reduced the monetization requirements end of last year. It’s now 500 subscribers and 3000 watch hours and 3 uploads in the past 90 days. In the past, it was 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours in the past.
