Celebrating 40 Years of Norscot: 1980s

In July this year, we turn the big 𝟒 𝟎 so we thought we'd take a trip down memory lane to showcase how far the Company has come. First up it's 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟖𝟎𝐬! ⁠

In 1984, we started trading as general builders, later forming Fairmitre (Highland) to manufacture bespoke timber windows and doors from a shed in Scarfskerry. Norscot Joinery Ltd was born through a Company Rebrand!⁠

By 1987, we moved to a historic site: the former War Radio Station in Bower, now known as Bower Workshops. This location, once a crucial Admiralty Wireless Intercept 'Y' Station during WWII and later a GCHQ site, became our new home.⁠

Expanding our horizons, we began manufacturing PVCu windows and doors at Bower Workshop in 1988. The following year, we completed Phase 1 of redeveloping Bower Workshops, adding 4,500 sq ft of factory floor space.⁠
