I just wrapped this video up for my Intro to OT class at HCC in Houston, TX. After 25 years away from college.. after hand-picking THIS field of healthcare, I realized that I will be a professional heart warmer, cheerleader, hype king, and champion of every single soul I can possibly serve until the day I retire. I truly hope that day doesn't come until I can no longer function. My daughter will need me. My parents will need me. Countless veterans, seniors, those stricken with diseases and disabilities they never expected, will look to us, their OTA's, OT's, and their entire healthcare team to help them feel TRULY equal, truly loved, truly functional, happy, and PROUD of the challenges overcome and beaten. WE will be there every single day, cheering. We will coach our clients to new heights, new possibilities, new workarounds, and new ways to express themselves. What a phenomenal way to serve the community. I can't think of a more selfless, broad-based healthcare profession to enter than this. That's why I chose it. I'm beyond excited to get board-certified as quickly as possible. Let's GO!!!
