Charlie Chaplin (born Charles Spencer) is one of the greatest stars of early cinema. English Heritage has commemorated his achievements with a blue plaque at his Glenshaw Mansions flat on Brixton Road, London.
The silent film icon, most famous for his role as the 'tramp', lived in the flat with his brother between 1908 and 1910 before moving to America to make his name in Hollywood.
