It’s not the same! Back then everyone was tight, close. Our three family house 49th and 9th my grandparents lived in the basement and gave the apartments to my mother, my aunt, and my uncle. Those days will never be again.🇮🇹

Was great I grew myself Italian neighborhood. We took care if ourselves in neighborhood. Homemade food and family was great we still eat pasta on Sunday s mom still making sauce at 83 dad 78 doing great thank god and its about respect in my family taught right values teach my 9 yrl son this . God bless 🙌 always

Those were the days ! Even my Neighborhood in pa in the early 70's ! The small grocery stores! You could leave your doors open ! Freinds staying over the house ! Everyone knew Everyone!! Such great memories! Sucks we all got old and separated!! 😮😮

Grew up in Dyker Heights in the 50's/60's and we never worried about crime. Doors were unlocked all day long. Very safe area back then.
