Yay. I know not everyone likes Pet Sematary but it is my fave book of all time. Glad you liked it. It is so dark and King is good at describing grief.

Great video Tom! I’m glad you enjoyed Pet Semetary so much. I’m still nervous to read it because I think it will destroy my emotions lol. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is one of my favorite books. I was also disappointed with the tension for that scene in HoD.

I read the discourses by Epictetus and really enjoyed it, so i can really recommend that book Also himym is definitely one of my favourite shows that you can just watch endlessly

Pet Semetary's a gut punch even if you know the plot, so absolutely understand. I've heard The Shining's the same way, so who knows, that might end up being 5 star #3!

Glad you enjoyed Pet Semetary. Idk if I could get thru it. When I read Fire & Blood, I had to keep reminding myself that I wasn't reading an omniscient author but the words of a maester, an unreliable narrator. The more I think of that scene, the more it seems like an embellishment. I can't see the Greens allowing a story like that to get out. It seems more like a legend that grew over time and eventually became the accepted narrative without any real account.

If you're interested in religion/discussions of eternity, there's this really interesting novella I read recently called "A Short Stay in Hell." The main character dies and goes to hell, but it turns out the true religion all along was Zoroastrianism. Because the main character was a reader, he's sent to a hell based on the Library of Babel story by Borges. Really compelling story, and makes you think about the scope of eternity.
