Celebrating Paul Celan: An Evening with Pierre Joris and Paul Auster

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Paul Celan’s birthday, Deutsches Haus at NYU presents a reading from Celan’s "Memory Rose into Threshold Speech" (The Collected Earlier Poetry: A Bilingual Edition, translated by Pierre Joris and with commentary by Pierre Joris and Barbara Wiedemann) and from Celan’s "Microliths They Are, Little Stones" (The Posthumous Prose, translated by Pierre Joris) by the poet and translator Pierre Joris, followed by a conversation between Pierre Joris and Paul Auster. The event was introduced by Professor Ulrich Baer (NYU).
