Fortunately I kept a journal back then! I can safely confirm I saw Jurassic Park for the first time on 6/14/93! I was totally blown away by it. Hard to believe that will be 30 years ago tomorrow. 😮 I was 17, tho.

Wanna know why Joe Mazzello didn't audition? He auditioned for the role of Jack in Hook just two years prior and was deemed too young for the role. Steven Spielberg was so impressed with Joe's audition he promised him a part in his next picture. He won the roll of Tim in Jurassic Park by default.

One Sunday after church my dad and I took the bus home, and I bought the Jurassic Park DVD at Hastings and saw it the same day. That was my first viewing. And since then, I saw this movie hundreds of times.

Years later, Jurassic World movies were discovered, but it's not the same without you guys. Jurassic Park was the first film use a digital double of a human. It was actually a leftover model of the T1000 from Terminator 2. The effects company that did the effects in Terminator 2, Industrial Light and Magic, also worked on Jurassic Park. They basically took the model of the T1000, which itself where revolutionary CGI effects, and ILM repurposed it with digital cloths. Its the scene where the T Rex eats the guy sitting on the toilet. Jurrasic park is one of them films you can always watch and never get bored of, i remember when this film was released in 93, there was such a large promotion at the time mainly because of the graphics which are still great today.

It's nice to see that they both didn't become the stereotypical "has been" child stars. I thought Joseph was great in "The Pacific" and Arianna is still an artist and looks great. It's awesome that they can celebrate the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park and look back at it as a great experience and chapter in their lives and not the pinnacle of their lives. I wish they would have came back at some point in the new movies. That would have been awesome.

I'm just making the point that literally the biggest character development in the film hinges on that the kids are likable, so they really had to make sure that worked - it was a movie where they definitely couldn't afford to miss the mark on that aspect.

@@mezzb Spielberg is very very good with child actors, you can tell by the performance he got out of Drew Berrymore in ET. That would be very difficult to do. I watched a video where they had Drew said they had ET eat with her and play with her so that she wasn't scared and considered him a real creature. That's the kind of care he puts into his child actors for their performance and for their wellbeing

I remember watching this film in a crowded park in dublin during summer 2016 and when that dinosaur joke was said by joe mazello, no one laughed, then like 2 seconds later one guy in the massive crowd let out a huge roar of a laugh and then everyone laughed in the park..😂😂😂 that was so funny when that happened

I can't believe it 30! years! OMG! Time flies so fast... Iremember, my parents went to the cinema to watch this film and I stayed at home with my "aunt", because I was just three years old ;) And I remember toys that my mom bought me. A Stegosaurus and wind-up? (is it a good word?)Triceratops :) And watching it for the very first time on VHS was one, big WOW! Ofcourse after this film (and LOST WORLD) I became only TEAM T-REX

I'm a huge dinosaur fan so when we were on our summer caravan holiday I begged my parents to see this film. But I'm ashamed to say I was a pathetic baby and scared shitless. In my defence, I was only elev... er, much younger than eleven. Definitely. Anyway, I almost shat my pants when the Raptor's breath hit the kitchen window; I distinctly remember my Mum asking if I wanted to leave, and I whined, "I do, but we caaaaan't... " Even at _much younger than eleven_ I didn't want to cause a scene. I couldn't sleep that night. My window was facing the caravan park's scenic trees and I thought, "... a T-Rex _could_ pop out, you don't know... !" Thankfully, the jitters were a one-time deal, and I was fine with every subsequent viewing. After all, I was a macho eleven-year-old. ... dammit.

These two single handedly took that movie to the heights it achieved. Sure Steven Speilberg made awesome graphics but this movie would be nothing without these two actors. They paved the foundation for more Jurassic movies and I wish they were part of all of them especially the Jurassic World ones which didn't have great cast except Chris Pratt. If only they blended Chris Pratt and these two together in mix would've been soooo awesome to see.

Ariana Richards was always lovely and now she's just straight-up beautiful. I love that she's still so recognizable all these years later. Joseph Mazzello likewise is clearly the same actor from his youth...but my favorite role of his was as John Deacon in BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. He was *perfect* for that part!
