I was so touched when you ask about hard times and she said she didn’t remember any - I’m sure life was hard back then. Such a sweet and precious lady. We all should be like her - blessings to your family Tipper. I am really enjoying this series.
@RobinBlockerАй бұрын
Yes and if there was hard times mom and dad never acted like it around the kids. At least mine didn't. Wow, granny was a widow after I was. My husband passed in 2014. He was only 58. I had no idea she was so fresh in widowhood.

The 11th Commandment is: "Thou shalt not cook cornbread in anything other than cast iron" 😊✌️ I learned that at a very early age. We used to make "Sawmill Gravy" (corn mill) Hello Granny 👋 My Mom was the oldest of 13. Two passed away in infancy, a boy, Carl and a girl, Mary. Blessings from Georgia USA 🪶✨

My papa who grew up during the Depression had fond memories but cried talking about it. His 4 year old younger brother died from Whooping Cough, but he rarely mentioned. MY SON IS NAMED Thomas in his honor. MY Dad was Paul. Papa(Daddy) loved the memory of his Mother feeding six kids and family on one chicken, gravy, biscuits and veggies from the garden, he was so proud of that. Loved Granny.

Hi again Tipper! One of my favorite memories of my grandmother was helping her make cornmeal mush the night before, the next morning slicing it, breading it and frying it! Then, covering it with her tomato gravy!!! I'm 67 years old and that still makes my mouth water! It made my heart swell to see you make tomato gravy! I haven't tasted it since I was 12 years old but I'm going to try your recipe, THANK YOU!

I just love your videos with Granny. She reminds me of my grandma so much. My grandmother crocheted too, but not too much. How they raised 9 kids during the depression. When I asked them was it tough, they all answered they didn't know it. Of course they had a garden, and hogs and a couple of cows to grow out. And one big ole mule named Mary. Granddaddy also grew tobacco. What great memories Granny has. I enjoy her so much!❤❤❤

Tipper, this is absolutely wonderful, she is so sweet and she has a memory out of this world, my heart pained and ached alone with her when she talked of missing her husband. It doesn’t matter how long our loved one has been gone, it is so hard . I am 87 about her age , so I remember how life was along time ago also. , I hope she is living her life just the way she wants to. She said she eats what she likes, I go along with her on that. God bless her heart.
