I envy you. I was too young to see The Doors but they were my favorite band in the early to mid 70's until I discovered Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Lou Reed.

@@catthegipsy25 Bowie wrote one song solely about spece and that was major tom, his first American hit. After that he did a piano based album with Rick Wakeman and Mick Ronson arranging and playing the strings instrument. Then, ziggy Stardust blesses us with his presence and was huge. Then Allison Sane. I actually know the story of how Bowie came to write Panic in Detroit (born, raised and retired in Detroit myself) Bowie and Iggie walked out of a soul food restaurant in midtown on Cass Ave (skid row at the time) and there was a guy in a diesel van that looked like Che Gavarro that saw Bowie and Iggie from behind and thought they were chick's. Iggie had short platinum blonde hair at the time. Bowie probably still had that bright orange mullet. The driver started whistling and ogling and Iggie and Bowie just broke out in hysterics. Fun fact, a few block away from where that was with the drunks and the hookers, now is the hone of Jack White's Third Man Records vinyl stamping plant and dozens of hipster bars and restahrrants. Bitter sweet. Slid row was fun too.

Im 65 saw Doors at Boston Arena, now Matthews arena where Northeastern plays hockey when I was 15 in 70. They played 2 shows, payed 3.50 hid in bathroom for 4 hrs saw both shows. The Doors were then and allways will be the fn balls. God bless, Jim and Ray..see you soon
