I enjoyed watching these couple videos you did in northern Michigan. I've lived in Michigan from childhood through college and then moved back about 6 years ago. I live about 45 minutes south of Mackinaw. It's great to see positive impressions of this part of the state from people from other states.

We stayed on the Island in 2016 and loved it. As far as the fudge we liked JoAnn's over Murdick's. Murdick's has been around longer, but JoAnn's is smoother. Didn't get to try Ryba's.

I hate to be a buzzkill but you missed a northwest Michigan gem. The Legs Inn restaurant in Cross Village has great Polish food and is an amazing place to see the sunset. Take the Tunnel of Trees, M119, north out of Harbor Springs. It's a beautiful 40 minute drive that's well worth it.

We love Mackinaw City, we been traveling there for 25+ years. However; the last five years they quality of lodging has declined, and last year we determined was our last year we would spend any money on lodging in Mackinaw City, ( which is a substantial amount of our vacation budget!). We will be lodging elsewhere in the area, and much of our business will go to particular businesses not owned by the same owners of the motels and many of the businesses in town. This and coupled with the human trafficking we are beginning to hear about on the island and possibly in MC, I cannot in good conscience be a part of that. Local officials need to address these issues before they let it destroy the tourist industry there!
@shanepirch29472 жыл бұрын
As a resident of this area, please DONT. we are so tired of jerks, people who litter, horrible drivers and oh yeah, JERKS!
@TampaAerialMedia2 жыл бұрын
Well your business owners rely on the tourists, although yes they should be respectful
@shanepirch29472 жыл бұрын
@@TampaAerialMedia Couldnt care less, I dont work in tourism and neither does anyone i know. But I still have to deal with the out of town assholes who litter, tear up the roads with their side by sides and snowmobiles and treat the locals like shit.
@shanepirch29472 жыл бұрын
@@TampaAerialMedia Matter of fact is was just last week, my area was on the national news because a local restaurant closed their doors early because of the abusive treatment of the "wonderful visitors".

No. I disagree that the travel guide is an “articulate class act.” He mispronounces many of the names of the towns and it hurts the ears of us locals to hear them.
@bingo5fetherstone11 ай бұрын
Just as if the Pontiac & war of 1812 had never happened... (That's why the fort was "rebuilt" and the sport of lacrosse was weponised
@8deyivaw9 ай бұрын
The narrator needs to learn the correct pronunciations of the area. It’s irksome to us locals to hear the names of our towns, etc., get butchered in the spoken word.

So what town were you referring to?
